I'm in again today, still battling through my mountain of laundry but it is definitely going down.
Place is not getting any more untidy, but not exactly as tidy as I would like, but I'm pleased that we can keep on top of it so I just need to keep on plodding along.
So today:
More laundry
Supermarket shop
Coffee with friend either today or tomorrow
Chemist for DD2
Finish masks, they need elastic and hems.
Time to shift myself and go and get showered etc7 -
This is a rare lie in for me. All dogs are currently boarding, so no early arrivals. Made DH lunch and breakfast and have sneaked back to bed with a cuppa. My house is, however, totally grot, so I do need to fly at some speed today!
I need to wash about 15 loads, dry the same, iron more (mountain has been growing) S&S kitchen and clean a couple of large items unsuitable for the DW. Then, I must go and collect chicken food, oranges (for my damson, orange and cinnamon jam) and more milk from the vending machine to make yogurt. Following that, the hallway needs blitzing with eleventy hundred items requiring relocating to their correct homes, football boots need cleaning and drying and the floor hoovered and mopped. I've got until about 10am to get that all done, plus feed all the animals and chickens, transfer new hatchlings to the brooder, move recovered poorly hens to the stable for gradual reintroduction to the flock...why am I still in bed?7 -
I’m worn out by reading Dizzy’s list, so I’m going to carry on reading my book. Plus it’s too gloomy to start cleaning and clearing just yet, I am sure of it.Taking DD to work (if she gets up in time 😡), then to the dentist on my way home. Not sure about that as a new experience, so we will see, but they made the appointment, not me. Then home for a few hours before I have to go and pick DD up again. Those few hours have to be way more productive than the last hour has been. DH has gone into the office for the 3rd time since March, so I have the house to myself and no real excuse. Kitchen floor is high up on that list.
Back later to report progress, to keep me in line.Have lovely days all x
ETA - YL, I hope today goes ok in the office. So glad that you and DH had a lovely day out as well.9 -
Morning all. I got up a bit earlier today in preparation for returning to the paid stuff but so far have only done an hours workout and had breakfast. Pouring with rain, as it seems to be everywhere, so no walks or floor washing today.
I made a great start on our admin and budgets yesterday but still lots more to do so think I'll spend an hour on that now, then have my shower and get dressed.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.10 -
Morning all,
YL I hope it goes well. Let us know xx
Jazee - well done on getting stuck into your admin and budgets. I run my financial year from 1st September so have been getting things organised. The frugal living thread helps so much xx
Well I've managed a very very soggy dog walk! Kids are at swimming again, so it's just me and the dog, I've also lit a scented candle as she's a smelly soggy dog! I'm going to enjoy this cuppa and the peace for an hour. Have lovely days all x9 -
Morning all, I'm back in this week. Managed to do most of the kitchen bits yesterday but will leave the floors until I do the lounge as well so I can do it all in one go.
Weather is awful here, can't believe I'm wearing a jumper before August bank holiday weekend but I'm enjoying the cooler weather compared to the heat we had a couple of weeks ago.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20178 -
Dentist visit decluttered. Note to self - don’t arrive early to appointments any more, especially when it’s raining. I just didn’t think.Wm on with a load of towels. Next stop: dining room, as DH has vacated his pit home office for the day.ASB- I have also followed along the frugal living thread for a while, and saw you pop up. My head doesn’t seem to be in the right place to MAD in that area atm, although I really need to. I think it’s because I don’t feel in control of anything any more, hoping that changes at some point. Well done to you though, you have been a true frugaller x7

Morning all
I managed a better sleep last night but now Aunt Flo has arrived with a vengeance so I still feel rubbish bleeeurgh
Decorator is here doing the lounge, we have bits and pieces from that room in what seems to be every room of the house so flying this week might be limited. Paid stuff at the moment and I did my dailies first plus flung a load in the wm, that will have to dry on the airer.I have some paperwork sorting to do so will try and spend some time on that after work, not sure what else will be done while I’m feeling rubbish.
Sorry for the moaning, hope you all have a good day. Take care x7 -
Workers all out to work.
DW on. I just got it loaded and DS1 brought another pile through from the middle room... ggrrr. So I have dirty pots on the side again..
TD on the blink again.. it keeps turning off after a fefw minutes and not drying anything.. so I think there may be a blockage but I can't find it.
I have a pain in my back from yesterdays mopping, a different pain to the one I always have. Chest is wheezy again.. so waiting for drugs to kick in there.
I want to get work tops cleared and clean today.. that will probably take another 5 hours.

Downstairs cleaned. Gibble rehoused. Plants watered but may be too late for some.
Kitchen and utility floors mopped. Water disgusting.
Hair washed and dried so that I can clean the bathroom if I cba.
Phone call made to chase the lost delivery from weeks ago. It may come next week, but I will believe it when it arrives and it is what was ordered.8
