e2save misleading info

  • As long as you're happy that's fine. People shouldn;t presume this company is clear and straightforward to deal with any more merely because they were in the past - or that they actually follow the current t&c. The OP was referring to price-match t&c (even if you don't realise that) and so is in an entirely different situation - as most people will be now. Some of those have sailed on as before have already been hitting the rocks. Others who take the same course are ignoring the currents and lighthouses.

Ok I'll take your word for that - I am sure with the username you have got you know what you are talking about but it might be better if you assume in the future that people are generally trying to be helpful rather than being deliberately misleading;)

But I hope this doesnt all mean I am going to get hassle from e2save next year too - I've just renewed my contract! The guy told me that I would claim in exactly the same way I have been doing.

It's not a question of what people are "trying" to do; rather what they say is likely to do. He has told you rubbish. The way they operate cashback now is totally different as I keep saying. If you had a deal with Onestopphoneshop it's closer (but not identical) to that. I stopped believing what they "tell" me a while back. The only thing now is to cover yourself using what you have and not what they tell you.

Specifically, should you follow exactly the same basis as last time you'll come unstuck and will definitely "get hassle" from them at the very least.

Hi. I'm new. I've read these forums for some time, but registered in order to post my experience with e2save. I've had a number of contracts with them. They have always been sharp operators but paid up. With the latest contract I claimed the first cashback (4mths) without problem, but had the second claim rejected (6mths). When I checked the screenshot of the login area which I had taken at the time of taking the contract and the current login area I saw that e2save had changed the terms and conditions without telling me. That is not sharp practice, it is breach of contract and conspiracy to defraud. I am taking appropriate action. If you have an e2save contract take screenshots, do not believe what e2save tell you about which bill to send in. I'm not dealing with them again.

Er... haven't I b een warning people of things like this? Perhaps now more will take note. Complacency is no longer an option. THEY ARE DIFFERENT NOW!

In your case (and for the benefit of others):- the account dates are sometimes correct and sometimes wrong. They also DO keep changing the written t&c as if they'd always been there. However, they are also not fully consistent with the legal t&C in any case. Rely on them at your peril. Some of mine tell me to claim one month too early; others are "correct" subject to what I just said. They also CHANGE - so copy them AT THE TIME YOU PURCHASE.

Unfortunately (as I KEEP saying) each individual's situation is unique - so in this case it's hard to know precisely why they rejected one but not the first - though I SUSPECT you sent the second claim later at it therefore fell outside their (illegal) time window BUT within the legal one... in which case, LBA then sue for the whole lot.

No: sent the second claim too early, they say. The special delivery letter demanding all cashback and threatening legal action will be in the post tomorrow. Since they paid the first claim it is demonstrably correct. There is no way that the second could be wrong. They rejected it having changed their terms. I'm supporting mobilejunkie, take screen shots (PS What's LBA?).

My little guide; LBA = Letter Before Action.

Interesting. Too early when they paid the first. Date of connection, date of 2nd claim bill and date they received it? It's definitely a so-called price-match deal so should be able to see what's happened with that information. If they are doing something different it will help others to know about it - they do this all the time now, unfortunately!

Maybe you sent your first claim later using an early bill but it arrived just inside the start of their so-called claims window?

Connection: 8 June. The first screen shot definitely shows: send September bill (sept 22), which I did. Received c11 October (well before Oct bill). delayed by postal strike. The screenshot taken yesterday shows first claim should have accompanied October bill. They changed it and I can prove it. No getting around it.

Ah... one month early (trap one). However, the way they are working (inconsistent with the legal t&c) means it arrived in their claim window so was accepted. If you then used the November bill but it arrived before about 8th december they'd have said it was too early - and it was. However, that does NOT take away your rights under the t&c to claim this time in the correct window OR to claim subsequently. If they say otherwise put your claims in correctly, send a LBA and sue if they don't pay up "as a gesture of goodwill" - yeah, I know!!

I see the logic of what you say, but I made claim 1 in accordance with their terms and the clarification/reiteration of those terms on the website. My complaint is that those terms were unilaterally changed, with the effect that my claim was disallowed, and on those grounds I will sue if necessary.
