e2save misleading info

Hello all

I am new to this site and have come here because of e2save problem links that brought me here.

After reading some of the posts on this issue, I can see I am not alone in my confussion over the cash back offers with this company.

I am intersted to hear from anyone who managed to succesfully make a claim in the last months - please let me know how you did this:

1.Which contract did you send (I am guessing not the forth as they tell you clearly to do at the point of sale, as it will arrive before the 120days, but the 5th contract)

2. Within what dates did you send it?

3. Where did you send it.

4. Can you clarify the situation of 120 days, is it after the purchase, connection or bill date?

Anyone?!

I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks

  • I think with most contracts, it works out that you send the fifth bill for the four month claim, the seventh for six months etc.as they usually send out the first bill soon after you get the phone- and charge you in advance. I've just purchased a phone through esave (the phonestop- same thing) so haven' found out how easy/difficult their system is compared to others.

I have had all my cashback money back from e2save with relative ease. I did get confused over when to send the first bill but sent them the earliest one it could be and they returned it saying it was too early. So when the following months bill arrived I sent that one and then worked out when to send the subsequent bills from there. Myself and my partner had a 12 month contract each and I am just claiming the last cheques from them now.

One thing to note is that one of my cheques did take ages and I hadnt received an acknowledgement email as I had with all my other claims. When I rang they said the claim hadn't been received. I fished out the recorded delivery receipt and funnily enough they then found the claim. When I asked about the email they said they had stopped sending them out but I received one for my next claim - funny that!!

Always send recorded, keep the receipt and make sure you send the claim within 30 days of the bill date with all the required detail. Staple the voucher to a photocopy of the bill - (always get a photocopy. You only have to send the first two pages, I do both sides to be safe. At most this will cost 40p) . Basically follow all their rules to the letter and you should be ok.

    Karen

PS - Just checked and my contracts started on 17/12 and I put my first (proper) claim in on 6/6 with a copy of May's bill (bill number 6)

PPS - just to make absolutely clear - the terms and conditions stated above applied to my contract taken out in december last year. For new contracts please check your own t&c's.

That's bad advice and well out of date. I recommend people check out what is happening now with the t&c rather than what happened previously or they will come unstuck in a big way. There are plenty of threads on this. Treat it lightly at your peril.

Sorry but why is that bad advice? The guy asked what people are doing now and I told him what is happening with the contract I am about to come to the end with on e2save. I was not deliberately misleading anyone - just answering the question.

I agree you need to check the current t&c's though - of course - that is why I said follow the rules to the letter.

Well, first off sending a photocopy will lose you ALL claims - present and future. Secondly, sending within 30 days of the bill date could give you the same result unless you sue. THAT is what is happening NOW (for starters!).

As for following the t&c - which set? One of the (three) versions they give you or the ones they are actually using? THINGS HAVE CHANGED!

E2Save are no longer using the E2Save way of doing things. They took over another part of cpw - Onestopphoneshop - about 4 months ago and (in their "wisdom") not only introduced new, confusing and misleading t&c shortly before that but proceded to let the Onestopphoneshop cashback team do things their own way from then on. Whatever happened with E2Save before is a different matter entirely as many are finding to their cost.

    Always send recorded

    More bad advice.

If you send it recorded and it gets lost what can you do about it?

You waste your money using recorded.

You need to use special delivery and pay extra for consequential loss insurance.

    Mobilejunkie.

    Your comments are wrong.

The terms and conditions for each offer are the terms and conditions for each offer. It is irrelevant what terms and conditions apply to subsequent offers.

For the deal I am on, you are allowed to send photocopies of the bill. I have done so twice and been paid out with no problems.

Similarly, on the older deals there is no cobblers in the Ts & Cs about messing up one claim rendering all subsequent claims void.

Cashback terms and conditions are a legally binding part of your original contract with E2Save and they CANNOT unilaterally change these.

I thought you were advising people on new contracts? Provided they can take one out before May 2007 I am sure your advice is sound. As for varying older t&c my LBA is with them now - following in the footsteps of several others since they started trying to do precisely that.

I haven't posted on this thread before, so I couldn't have been advising people on any sort of contracts let alone new ones!

All I can comment on is my experience, which is that E2Save are playing completely by the terms of the original Ts & Cs for my contract which is from April 2007.

Sorry but i was just telling you what I did - I have had the last 3 claim cheques back for both contracts with very little problem doing exactly as stated above . What else can I say?
