Curious - what did your seller take or try to sell to you?

Hi All,
I've had a communication from my seller asking if I wanted to buy certain items, mainly bedroom furniture, but they also want to sell the wall mounted bathroom mirrors to me which I found surprising. When I sold my property it never would have occurred to me to remove the large mirrored medicine cabinet in the bathroom for instance. I also recall a recent post where a seller was trying to get the buyer to pay extra for 10 year old fitted carpets.
Has anybody else been surprised by what the vendor is removing from the property or trying to sell to them?

Just decline. Tbh, in many purchases, I've never really been surprised by things they've tried to sell me!

We bought a new build this time so knew what was included.

At the house we part exchanged we left the curtains and blinds and bathroom fixtures as they were no use too us at the new house. We also left a lovely breakfast table and chairs as we had no need for them.

We didn't expect any money for them. They were more use to the first time buyers who bought the house then to us.

I did buy most light fittings and the Kitchen blinds from the seller, the blinds annoyed me a little as they wouldn’t have fitted their new place, plus I’d left all my Venetian blinds in every room for our buyers at no extra charge. Vendor didn’t over price things so I just took the hit and paid up.
However that didn’t annoy me as much as discovering they took every single toilet roll out of the 3 loos 🙄. Was ridiculous as we were last to get keys at nearly 4pm and us, kids and removal guys all needed the loo!

:o  surely more effort to take than to leave where they are!

The seller removed shelving, which was firmly secured into the wall and the only thing I liked about the kitchen.

Left the fitted oven / hob (only 3 rings work) and washing machine (temperamental) without warranty to the condition (Scotland so different to elsewhere).

Asked if they could leave chest of drawers and wardrobe (I agreed as they emptied out all the bulky furniture and I had purchased everything aside from white goods for my last rental).

Left tiles, wallpaper, wood varnish, pictures and a load of other random stuff which I've slowly been offloading on FB.

I wouldn't have paid for any of the sellers things.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.

Our seller left hundreds of his business cards (don’t know if it was his current job or not) in one of the fitted wardrobes, a racing bicycle (which I years later sold for a £27 at a car boot) and a load of stuff in the shed, some of which has come in useful lol. Luckily nothing that we expected to remain was removed

Interesting because i've just spent £900 on light fittings and blinds to sell the place so it looked pretty.   Do you think I could take these with me or offer them for sale.  Hadn't really considered that before ?

We too found there was no loo roll in our house, having driven for 2 hours wasn't best pleased. There was no sign of a card/bottle of wine either.........  We left both for our buyers, and had professional cleaners in to give it the once over after we'd moved out.

never been asked to buy anything.  it has been more the case we have asked them to take stuff with them that would be considered fixtures as we didn't want it.  i was quite annoyed with our seller when we bought our house recently as they left wardrobes that were old and claimed it was fitted wardrobes, when it clearly was not.

luckily i found someone on gumtree to come and collect it for free, but i think the sellers should have removed it.
