I try to alternate Asda and Sainsbury's as they each stock certain things that we like that the other one doesn't. If I'm really desperate for a delivery I use Morrisons as they often have available slots but their online delivery is dire and their website doesn't let people say whether they will accept a substitute or not. I know subs at all supermarkets can be hit and miss but there are some things that I specifically want and wouldn't accept a sub for. I'd rather have no chicken at all, for instance, if they haven't free range. I never order free range chicken from Morrisons because I just know from experience it will be non free range that they send. At least with Sains and Asda I can order free range and specify no sub. Having the shopping left on the doorstep makes it impossible to refuse Morrisons subs as I never get an email or list of what the actual delivery contains before it's actually arrived from them. With the others I know in advance what's actually coming so can leave a note on the door for the driver to take back any unsuitable subs that I don't want to keep. In the old days we could check through our shopping but we're not supposed to touch anything now. Sadly, Iceland don't deliver to our area yet. I wish Lidl did deliveries, I like their products and their prices.

103 Days to Go..........
£15.50 paid off the card today, so the balance is now £1,815.50 - that's my daily £10 and £5.50 from one of the other eBay items that got paid overnight. I've had a couple of bids on 2 items I listed on Sunday already too.
I managed to get an article to write late on yesterday, so I'm going to work on it today. It looks a bit tricky, and it's 1,700 words, but it's a good payer, so I will persevere and try to get it done today. Got to grab what I can.

That balance is really coming down - well done!2

Well done on the eBay sales. I know they're only small amounts, as I think you expected, but it's less clutter and more off your debt. I really admire you and other people who sell on eBay nowadays. I used to sell a lot when I was in massive debt, sadly sold stuff I really didn't want to part with but I was pretty desperate. I hate doing the listing though (shouldn't be such a pain for you as you are so good at writing with your articles etc) and as soon as my debts were paid off I stopped selling stuff and started taking it to the charity shop instead. Now charity shops are closed again and I've had a massive declutter I really need to get it off the premises. No point in decluttering one room only to have the stuff stored in boxes somewhere else. Charity shops might be closed for months yet. Also, I know lots of eBay sellers who say that a lot of buyers are more awkward and sometimes downright stroppy these days. I should forget about all that and just get on with it like you do
Best of luck getting your article which I hope you can finish in quick time.. Incidentally, didn't you use to do a lot of comping? Do you still? Any recent luck? Comping is something else I need to get back into. Honestly, with all the extra time at home during lockdowns there's absolutely no excuse. I just feel so lethargic most of the time. I managed to get the article written - just hope it gets accepted now, but I think they will want some revisions.
I did do a lot of comping in the past. I have dipped in and out, but I prefer to concentrate on getting concrete earnings at the moment. Plus comping has changed so much over the years. I used to like doing the postcard and entry form comps, and got a lot of success with them. However, now a lot of it is on social media, and the prizes have gotten worse too. Sometimes you get a competition on Facebook for a pack of toilet roll, and there will be thousands of entries!! It's just not really worth the time and effort anymore to be honest.
