Any idea where you heard about this PowerPoint? Word of mouth I'm assuming?EarthBoy said:Ed-1 said:
It's only a question of when, not if, TSB discontinue the Classic Plus account. As WillPS mentions, TSB gave a presentation to their investors in November last year outlining their future strategy. They explained they would be moving away from the Classic Plus as it only "meets a narrow set of customer needs". In its place would be a free account which pays no interest; a monthly fee based account (they specified a £3 per month bolt-on) which "lets you withdraw cash abroad with no unexpected fees or charges"; and an enhanced monthly fee based account which lets you "choose the insurance bundle that's right for you". They didn't say how much this would cost.
Yes. Classic Plus account on borrowed time?WillPS said:This looks like the design we saw in the Current Account range refresh (i.e. massive worsening) presentation deck last year.I guess the Mastercard switch is out in the long grass now.
The PowerPoint showed a selection of new debit cards, in light-blue, dark-blue and pink, in the portrait style that notveryeducated includes a link to, above.
The new range was due to be launched in the first quarter of this year, but that plan was probably scuppered by Covid 19.

Basic summary:
Current customer base is too safe and we're too traditional in how we operate..
We want more profit so:
Offer nothing to traditional customers who will then leave us alone.
Were going to make people do more things self service by investing in digital platforms.
This should free up time in branch to sell higher cost borrowing to more risky borrowers.
Okay, that's not what it says but it's the basic direction.1 -
I'm with tsb bank. to me its a card that gets money out of the cash point. the design on the card doesn't bother me one way or the other.0

It is in the public domain as TSB put it there. A link was previously posted on this forum, I think in this thread: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6077123/tsb-plans-for-new-current-accounts.notveryeducated said:

Who is the designer of these cards. They are totally rubbish. Look at old cards such as Barclays connect, Lloyds payment card, Midlands 100 International debit actf and Abbey national cards. They are really beautiful designs.
Don't know why they cannot design something better.
New santander credit card is the most horrible card I ever seen.

Why do you assume that I'd quote from something I'd only heard about, and which may be wrong, rather than from something I've seen with my own eyes, so I know it's correct?notveryeducated said:

I downloaded the presentation at the time, so I've still got a copy of it. I couldn't find the publicly available link yesterday, or I would have posted it. I'm grateful to the others who've now found it and posted it on here.
The Sabadell link is the full presentation. The one still on TSB's website is a summary of it.0
