That is really good news about getting the all clear. I think that sometimes we don't realise the full weight we are carrying until it is lifted. I really hope that OH does well tomorrow so it would be a double celebration. Defiantly keep the fact he has had a night away alone in the bag, ready for when you want to have a trip away.
I am sure once you have settled into the new job and the extra wages, plus hopefully OH's new wages I am sure you will be back onto being mortgage free really quickly

That's great news.
Focus on clearing the normal debt, do token overpayments on the mortgage, build up savings and then look to hammer the mortgage.
We're both lucky as our mortgages are small compared to most people's.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -

Hi sorry! No he didn’t pass again 🤦🏼♀️ I’ve stopped stressing about it now. What will be will be. I’ve been working and doing an extra shift a week to stay afloat. I have 9 shifts left in a&e 🥳 I can’t wait!I found my new hours will be 8-4 Monday to Friday which is amaaaazing! I am so excited for the work-life balance. I plan on getting back into the gym and sorting myself out! I have no excuse now I’m not worried about my kidneys and I finally seem to be over the covid… I’m off the propranalol now. I’m putting the palpitations down to post covid rather than genuine anxiety- or a mixture of both!Erm no money updates. Hopefully will be soon enough xxxMortgage started August 2020 £69,700

What's he failing on?
Please don't fund OHs next one, he can get some work round yours in the evenings or the kids school hours in the day and pay for it himself. You've definitely given him enough help and he needs to sort this out. Unless he doesn't want to work, which isn't fair on you busting a gut.
Your new hours sound perfect, they'll create that much needed balance, allowing free time to spend with family and pursue other interests.

Hi sorry I haven’t been the best on here lately! Erm literally failed on a pathetic major everytime no minors. I’m not paying for anymore. I can’t.Mortgage is officially first £5,000 paid off 💪🏼🥳 it is a snails pace but I think I can catch up on the overpayments in the next years to come so I’m not giving up on my target just yet! I did mentally predict this part because I wanted to do stuff to the house. Kitchen balance is down to £6.5k so I’ve paid £3000 off it already.
I’ve got 5 nights and one day shift left in a&e! I really really can’t wait. I’m done with the a&e stress now and can’t wait for a better work-life balance. A&E are also excited about it and making big plans for me to work alongside them as alcohol liaison to help with flow through the department so that’s gonna be interesting too.I had a spending spree in April. I just hit that ‘f it’ button after so long of working and spending money on OH and the kids and bills I treated myself to a few things. Mainly days out and a pair of trainers and bits so got those all to look forward to now.I need to try and get back on here more. I’ve lost track of loss of diaries I was really into. Hope everyone is well xxxMortgage started August 2020 £69,700

Well done on the first chunk of the mortgage - you will soon increase that amount. Also great news on paying a good chunk off the kitchen. You also deserve a few nice treats for yourself. I know I rarely spend money completely on me - and when I do I feel guilty. You can enjoy some of your wages for onceMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Is anyone else with halifax? They’ve got this new home hub and it’s very motivational lol! I’m buzzing with it… I know it’s only a guestimate but £31k of equity is amazing compared to 2 years ago when I was paying £400 pcm rent and the house was living in my overdraft and it was a 💩 hole compared to now!I have 2 shifts left in a&e (tonight and tomorrow) than I’m done! The final 3 weeks have really really dragged but the end is in sight.I’m so excited about it and should be around £500 pcm better off working full time. I’ve also had to reapply for the nurse bank as they’ve ended that role with my current job which is really annoying and has taken away the opportunity to do bank shifts when I’m waiting for paydays especially on the new job.As soon as I start the new one I’m gonna ring the tax office and try and get my tax codes sorted. I have that many payroll numbers it’s messed everything up- I’m on a T code which is apparently for complex/ high earners 🤯Mortgage started August 2020 £69,700

Thanks @Chrystal I’m good! Finished a&e Saturday morning. I’ve got a week to sort the house out then got my
nan coming to visit for 4 days before I start my new job so it’s all go go go!Looking at my ESR today and it looks like they’ve taken my ‘leaving date’ off my bank employee number which is good as that means I’ll continue to have access to all the systems without having to re-register when I start the new job! Little things like that really stress me out so it’ll make a difference if I can go in and crack on!My finances are pretty dire. No overpayments and only £5 savings weekly but I am hoping things pick up shortly. Other than that there’s not much to add. Life’s good at the minute. Hope everyone else is well xxxMortgage started August 2020 £69,700
