It makes life so much better if we don't dread getting up in the morning for work
I haven't lost any weight though lol

Hi!!! I’m slacking on the diary arent I! Who on earth could have predicted this bloody cost of living crisis. Every time I do a food shop I get the fear at the till waiting for the bill.In good news…. OH finally passed the bloody HGV test 💃 I’m not even saying how many attempts or how much it cost because it gives me anxiety thinking about it never mind saying out loud. He has the last part in 2 weeks then will be able to drive professionally. I am really really counting on this to make a positive impact on our lives and hopefully it means we’ll be less effected by the cost of living if our income essentially doubles 🤞🏻
Obviously the first thing I need to do when he gets work is pay down the credit cards Which should take about 6 months then it’ll be all systems go on the overpayments… I may be able to get on track for MF by 40 if he pulls his finger out and gives me £1000 a month keep.
I’m still loving my job and work life balance and applied for it as a permanent post this week so hopefully that’ll be set in stone soon.
Hipe everyone is doing well xMortgage started August 2020 £69,700

Thank goodness! Hope the second part is a lot easier as you've carried a lot of money on your shoulders for him to do this.
Fingers crossed for going permanent.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -

My job is 90% mine just the funding is being debated and there are 2 of us who are temp and they only have funding for 1.5 of us 🫣 typical NHS management! I’m not striking but I do hope those that do strike for us get us a decent pay rise.. I can’t see it though xMortgage started August 2020 £69,700

I think the problem with strikes is that you lose so much pay it's hard for any increase you get to justify the loss - unless you wanted time off anyway.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hello! Just my little monthly update. I feel like I’ve been quite frivolous with money lately so I need to do more MSE and less shopping! I’m almost done for Christmas presents which is good.I got my permanent job offer yesterday so I’m happy with that as it’s the security I really needed! OH also passed the final part of the test so just waiting for his 2 cards to come in the post then he can go out looking for work.I can’t believe it’s 2023 in a couple of weeks… so far I’ve paid off 9% of my mortgage. Not as much as I’d have hoped at this point but I am hoping to pick up speed as time goes on. If OH works it should be easy. Just 56 months to August 2027 and £63,600 to pay!Mortgage started August 2020 £69,700
