Urgh...fully paid up WAC member here...DH had a bad night, therefore so did I. I'm liking the idea of a brain dump BadCat - I'm going to try this as I laid awake trying to plan in everything I need to do in the next few days and clearly am 67 hours short.
Cooked up some elder berries to make jelly with yesterday and I'm sorry to say the smell made me feel a bit queasy. I've not tasted elderberries before, although I love elderflower, so I'm hoping the addition of sugar and lemon might make it more appealing.
I had a mini melt down yesterday after spending all day on my feet working non-stop to see little progress in the state of our hovel. Oh and our collie is expecting puppies!7 -
Morning xx (waves)
Just popping in to give hugs where needed and confess serious owl envy to Fayolle xx
kaz - when you said they aren't going to make any more dust I thought you meant the dust factory or the dust fairies (or whoever is responsible for dust manufacture at this house). I was quite disappointed when I realised you meant your workmen. Hope springs eternal lol.
asb - glad I'm not the only one who exaggerates slightly when counting. Eleven million is a lot! It's usually eleventy one million here. xx
Work was stoopidly crazy busy on Tuesday. Too many people been given Annual Leave at the same time! I stood up for myself! I'd been working non-stop all morning when 'senior' decided that she was going to delegate someone else's work to me on top of my own backlog ...as she had been sat in the same room as me all morning and knew I hadn't had time to draw breath, I asked her when exactly she thought I was going to be able to do said 'extra' work. She did it herself.
Yesterday I moved offices. I moved all my IT stuff from Room 6 (where I was originally when I moved in in January) and Room 4 (where I've been 'camping' since the end of March), set it all up, switched it on and....it all worked. Woot Woot. I did ring IT to say that my old hard drive was struggling to update and they are coming next week to install a newer model/ bring a newer model with more something and a lot of other-else which will be better apparently. I know my way round technology lol. Sweat! Gosh it was humid yesterday morning for a fat nearly 60 year old to be humping scanners and printers and phone and puta and eleventy one cables from one room to another. I actually dripped on to the desk. Yeugh.
So - I am showered, hair washed, dressed, breakfasted, lunch is packed and brew slurped. Bins are out - in fact I think one has just been emptied, so I'll go feed the birds and bring in that bin.
Hugs, gets well soons, and oodles of flylady love to you all
Rxx

BadCat18 said:Morning all
I’ve been awake an hour already, cuppa made and drunk, brain dump written.
ooh, and plum cake worked, it’s delicious!
I used to do this in one of my therapy groups, I suggested it to them and weirdly they took me up on it..lol I even do one in my bullet journal when the situation arises. It's interesting reading back months later - can even be quite funny sometimes.
Mmm plum cake sounds delicious...I have a huge influx of plums might do this. Badcat do you have a recipe at ?allMortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

Good morning
I know how to start my day - am on hold, chasing a delivery that (long story short) has been 8 weeks coming then was a no-show last week 😡😡. This new bravery with the phone at such an early hour is because I was awake half the night worrying about it...
Valli - I did the same thing once. Sudcr£m£ fixes everything in this house!
It’s a sunny start to the day here, so I have the job of plum picking first, in case the predicted strong winds turn up and I lose the lot. I have changed our bedding, and that is in the wm. It is the turn of the downstairs later for a clean, and HHI, but only after I have mopped the disgusting kitchen floor.
Have a lovely day all x
ETA - no progress on the order, beyond the fact that the warehouse appear to have lost the item...

Never thought of sudocrem! All fine now. Phew.
Have flung stuff out of bathroom cabinet (bbe 2012 vapour rub) and insect repellent wipes. There will be room for new shampoo, conditioner and shower cream and soap bottles in there. DS is taking his 5l Pyrex casserole dish 😁👍 and wok 🤬 apparently. So more stuff goes. I was going to throw his rug but apparently he wants that.
After yesterday's non stop rain we have blue skies today.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Natty new pegs love it, mine keep snapping so I guess I will have to find one I put away for later!Workers tell me they are on the final few days, however they are drilling / banging / crashing like good ens, dust levels seem to be down as they are cutting 'stuff' outside in the garden under their gazaboo they have put up.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Morning. An early-ish start for me too, so I have already
- checked finances
- completed my BP record for the GP; DH will deliver it to the surgery when he goes for his dressing later
- ordered my repeat prescription
- done the worst part of the 2019-20 Gift Aid Small Donations Scheme claim for church
- hung out WMx2 (we have blue sky and a pleasant breeze), with 3rd load swirling and another waiting in the queue
- cleared the sweet peas off their "obelisk" (Mr Al's OK-ish spiral version) which fell over in the high winds, and cleared the pot ready for a few more French beans that I planted a couple of weeks ago
- opened windows
- tidied the LR
- eaten breakfast, started DW, stopped DW, made yogurt, re-started DW with more dirties
I must
- clean the bathroom thoroughly (no, DH hasn't yet commented on his clean and tidy ensuite)
- order a greengrocery delivery for Saturday
- finish the GASDS claim (all money clawed back from the tax man is good!)
- make scones at lunchtime, as I'm meeting a friend in the park for BYO afternoon tea
- chase up 2 Freecycle takers if they don't get back to me with a collection time
- put the bottom sheets back on all the beds (I'm not washing quilt covers today)
...and I'm hoping to get to the fabric shop in the market town around lunchtime to buy some thread and zips for curtains and cushions.
Congratulations to Dizzy on soon becoming a grandparent - is it your collie's first litter?
Congratulations Natty on your new pegs, and hope yours turn up kaz. I am becoming obsessed with pairing mine properly!
Very well done round on sticking up for yourselfIf you love owls, you'd love sleeping in my study bedroom - we have several who hang out in the local woods and the big barn opposite, and they are very vocal! ©v©
(((Hugs))) spoons and sticks all round, as needed xx7 -
Me again
For any who would like the plum cake recipe it’s this one... https://pennysrecipes.com/12455/plum-cake-recipes
I tweaked it a little and added a teaspoon or so of ginger, it needed slightly longer baking than the suggested time in my oven. Second slice is going to be eaten later with a cuppa methinks...
Dailies are done here, still damp laundry from airer put outside. Wm run and pegged out, downstairs loo and en-suite swished over, bathroom will be done later, some house admin done and now I’m at the paid stuff, just waiting for a report to run lol and having a sneaky catch up on here...
bye for now x7 -
Just back from picking 2 huge carrier bags of plums, so good timing with the recipe, BadCat!
Unfortunately a wasp thought that I would make a good breakfast, so I had to abandon much quicker than planned. I react quite badly to any insect bite, so heaven knows what I will do with a wasp sting. Antihistamine rubbed on and taken as usual. Finger growing nicely, even with an icepack on it ☹️Washing hung out. Blowing nicely in the sun.8
