Morning all
Fayolle hope DH is OK, if it is stress related I can understand that though, I am having a bit of a rubbish time at work but its things outside of work that I worry about.
So, big girl pants on today, last day at work before a few days off. Have a stupid amount to do even though I only really need to do 3 hours to finish my hours for the week. Went to bed before 9pm last night, slept for 9 hours.
Need to go to supermarket to buy food for family visiting tomorrow. Flying has been very minimal, will get the hoover out later.
Exercise done, recycling out, DW on, kitchen tidied. Off to get a shower, throw some mince in SC for menfolk and get on with my day.9 -
Morning all
Listening to the steady sound of rain on the window this morning. I was woken at 2am by a very noisy owl outside!
It’s another day out at the paid stuff today. Unfortunate as I love a rainy day at home to get on with things. Even though I had to clean round all of DH’s half-sorted out boxes everywhere (grrrrrr), upstairs does look better for yesterday’s blitz. I doubt much will get done this evening.
Have a lovely day all x8 -
Morning all,
Apologies for being awol, I have been reading along. Had a couple of days away, then when we got back yesterday I felt so overwhelmed by everything that needs doing. Didn't help that the place we were at was gorgeous, so my house feels tired as well as messy and a bit mucky in parts! I did loads of laundry, remade the beds then had some wine resulting in a very poor sleep (it always does nowadays, I'll never learn). So I'm on it today. Dog has been walked, recycling out, I'm about to get the children some brekkie, then crack on.
Nothing has stuck that I've read so I'll send hugs and cake to all xx7 -
Morning! Got lonely on the old thread...*Silly Dizzy*
Anyway, I've found you all now.
Not much flying achieved as yesterday Small turned 9! How is that possible? I feel so old. But cake was eaten and a takeaway ordered for dinner, as requested by the birthday boy, so the day was good. Felt bad that he couldn't have a party or a sleepover like on previous years, but bless him, he was very understanding.
Today Floss has a pregnancy scan to see if we can expect a litter of collie pups next month. DH and Tiny are heaping on the pressure to keep a puppy, but I shall remain firm. Six dogs is enough!
Monday was mainly taken up with the hatch of 70+ chicks and there's one straggler still drying who hatched late yesterday to deal with, then the incubators need cleaning and sterilising ready for next time.
Been having on and off weather here and typically yesterday, we had torrential rain just as my fence post delivery arrived on the back of a massive articulated lorry, so I got drowned dealing with that. Need to buy a fence post borer and auger bits now so we can put them up...might see if our lovely Groundworker friend Tom can help with that.
But for a brief moment....a cuppa...9 -
Good morning!
Sorry I have been awol! Thanks Valli and Natty for the lists. Hugs, sticks & spoons to those that need them.
No paid stuff today. It is much cooler, and rain forecast later. I need to go for a run and spend some time at the allotment - I don't think I will manage both! I put on a towel wash last night with the timer, so I think I will put that in the TD before I head out.
Round 1
Get up & dressed
Run!
Shower
Breakfast
Have a good day everyone!9 -
MorningScene of madness here this morning, too many workmen and not enough room for them all, I have told them time and time again, please make sure you book in with me the night before, I'm running my project, not them, so I can make sure you can get on, do they listen no, last week had a tiler grouting the floor while a sparky was trying to drill holes for the down lighters in the ceiling, in the same room................ now the same type of thing is occurring, so sent 2 of them off to a small job it seems they have else where locally and told them to come back 2pm, when the dudes making the mess will be finished, cleared up and gone. I am just so glad this is the last major week of works, it is so much easier managing a project when it is for someone else.............:)Dumped boxes of stuff in bedroom, emptied into the correct places, boxes in shed, dusted again the top of furniture etc.Hugs all round xBreast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

DW has been on, unloaded, and has just finished a cleaning cycle. Two loads of laundry put away, HM soup bubbling away on the hob and a new scooter ordered for DD (belated birthday gift). I have identified yet more clothes that can be donated as well.I am feeling the urge to batch cook and prep ahead of our return to work and school in just two short weeks. I also have eleven million labels to iron into clothes, I will save that for a rainy day I think. Right, cuppa and onwards x9

Round 1 done
Breakfast consisted of porridge - as usual. I had planned to have a healthy mushroom & spinach omelette, but DD2 is baking a cake. She has just ruined £30 of chocolate & cream, and is now cleaning up. Thankfully her money not mine! Valli I am so envious right now of your offspring flying the nest!! She has been at BFs for the last 2 weeks, and the bathroom has been tidier, the kitchen tidier (even without baking) & less washing! We have had angry words & I am now avoiding her!! I was hoping to make some jam this afternoon, but i doubt I will have my kitchen back, and I was going to put on a chilli for dinner 🤬
It is now raining, so there will no allotment. I think I will see if I can cross anything off the lists! And do some admin. On the plus side I have sorted out the problem with my email, so I can catch up with that.

DW on, WM on, kitchen cleaned up (by DD2, but then I rewashed some stuff that still felt greasy & rewired the sides). Its not really a criticism of DD2's cleaning skills, just an observation that when baking everything needs washing/wiping twice due to greasy chocolate, greasy butter or sticky icing sugar clouds! DD2 is back in the kitchen, but I am still avoiding her! 😂
I'm hungry, but I had breakfast late. Slinky is back on, so obviously all I can think about is food! I bought some new scales, with body fat measurement etc that connects to an app. Let's just say I wasn't surprised by any of the results, but it has given me the kick up the bum I needed! I am now tracking food on my fitness pal, and upping the water intake. Wish me luck!!8 -

Pegged out washing. Brought it back in. Am now in my 'office' doing 'officey' stuff and watching Spooks on the iplayer.
We're having salmon today ... packs of 2 pieces reduced to £1 at the Green co-op over there *points* - there are 5 mini co-ops within easy traveling distance! I also got a beef joint (small - will do 2/3) for £1.40 ish. I've also picked French Beans to go with it and we'll probably have rice.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
