Afternoon, thank you all for your kind words re hair and thank you for the list this week Valli. I'm in in a sort of fashion.
Its still too muggy here to really to do anything.
All I've managed so far is:
Make several cups of tea,
Wash a towel load (will have to go on indoor whirly gig)
Sorted out with sister about being part of her extended household while on holiday.. ( the Welsh are allowed to have four households as part of their 'household')
Dozed on sofa
Going to make a cuppa and then quickly put the duster around.Mortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

It is lasing it down here again, with thunder and lightening over head, garden flooding but running off into the field, tiny frogs hopping around on the puddles.Eye test done, in and out in 10 mins max, as they are not putting in the eye drops unless really needed at this time,.This may be of use to some (FOC)

Hi, I've just bothered getting the taplop out since we got back from the horrordays LAST Monday.. a whole taplopless week..
Knitted a couple of cardies for my friends baby.. I love kniting and flinging so it is clearing my stash and making house space!
DD1 gave me a challenge of finding a discontinued seat for her pushchair.. mission accomplished, I am now the best finder of obscure items apparently. I have 2 happy grandboys.. one doesn't have to walk and make his me-markets tired and the other one doesn't have to be folded in half to fit inthe carrycot!
OH has 6 days of 13+ hours shifts and is not off until Wednesday and Thursday.
Finances are looking dire but getting better very slowly.. I have 26.5% of Dots assessment fee saved.. £1066 left to save.. We were watching a programme called 'Dating on the Spectrum' yesterday.. there is a woman in it who is JUST like Dot.. if you want to see how we live.. watch that! (red haired girl with glasses.. she even looks like Dot! )
Ebeast sale to post tomorrow.
Taken 3 weeks to sort out the BG payments.. the idiots have cancelled the payment plan every week for 3 weeks... then not replied to messages.. so annoying.
We have taken in a little foster puss.. She needed somewhere safe until her owners can find a new house where she can live too.. so we have a 4th all black cat and another one whose name begins with a P .. Pumpkin this time.
23 days until school.. uniforms sorted, shoes bought.. just pe kits to organise.. they are doing all lessons outside so need warm clothes.. and Twinkle is NOT doing PE outside once the temperature is cooler. I haven't checked winter coats yet but Squeak definitely needs a new one.Food time for this lot and Then I can throw them all at beds.. they are so LOUD! I can barely hear my own thoughts today!
DW been run with all the pans and stuff so I need to get that reloaded. Nothing else done today... I am suffering badly with hayfever so getting very little done other than nursing my nose!
I had bloods done this morning so that was fun, I was dizzy and wheezing by the time I got there. Should be fun trying to get the GP to call when results are in.. They used the excuse that they must have called the landline when they didn't call back for 2 telephone appointments.. yeah right! I've been waiting since December for the results of the last lot.. bloods were supposed to be redone in February.. It took 3 weeks of calls to get todays appointment.
I have a mountain of washing to get through but the weather isn't condusive to drying at the moment.. and any wet washing Nutkin thinks is a toilet!
So, other than all that we have had absolutely nothing done for weeks.. and I am bored.

Ah knitting. I have (potentially - ie if I CBA) 3 babies to knit for. NDNs (joined on ones, who cut my front lawn and live in the other half of the building) are getting a Grandson in Sept. Work colleague is getting a daughter in January and neice is also having a January baby. I want a mittens pattern for the January babies, too.
But I have flown like a good 'un today. Kitchen and DR both done as per list; DR table now folded down to smallest size as laptop and accessories are back upstairs as DD has gone back to Leicester. I've also done bathroom (since I had a mop bucket out) so I get tomorrow off.
I have also emptied vacuum, taken out LOTS of rubbish and recycling and began to deal with 'piles'. An excellent start to the week methinks.
I've made tea, stacked DW, filled WM and washed the plastic. I also picked, blanched and froze some runner beans.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Evening all
Back from a weekend away visiting FIL and SIL, lovely to see everybody and we also got to visit a couple of Natty trust places and do a few long walks, it was still warm but cooler weather than we had last week so bearable!
thank you for the lists, I will be in properly from tomorrow, the house looks pretty good though after my efforts before we went away.
Since getting back I have...
meal planned and done the food shop
unpacked everything, bags etc all put away
defrosted the freezer as it was empty, wiped out and put drawers back in
collected cats from cattery
made a fuss of the cats
2 loads of laundry done, 1 on airer, 1 in dryer, lots more to go!
supper made, eaten and kitchen reset
pretty tired tonight after a long drive, going to have an hour or so with my book before an early night I think. I slept really well while we were away so let’s hope that will continue...
back tomorrow x8 -
Evening all
I’m not sure why I am checking in, as beyond getting some dinner on the table and clearing up afterwards, I haven’t flown at all. DH, however, has perfected the art of “Reverse Flying“...he has turned out a load of boxes from the aptly named Box Room, and scattered the contents all around the landing, the box room and the recently decorated and cleared ex-RoD. He says that he is tidying up and flinging but upstairs is now like an obstacle course, and it makes me want to cry *sigh*.
So for tomorrow I am torn between wanting a rain day to get stuck into the lists, and a digging day to rediscover the allotment. Right now, it is meal planning time again though.8 -
I can't report any flying for today other than doing a Mr T order, as we met a friend at Kew Gardens for the afternoon. Luckily after a weekend of monsoons we managed to motorbike to Kew, walk round then ride home without getting wet.
However I can mention a great deal of flying at the weekend owing to the rain; it was thoroughly stressful. Friends visiting from Somerset had booked a local pub/restaurant/hotel so they could visit various friends, meet in gardens etc and not put anyone in difficult situations. However owing to weather plus poor service in the restaurant we ended up having breakfast inside with them on Sat - not too bad as only 2 other families around - then they came round to our house, plus a friend, and I cooked. This meant in the time between breakfast and their arrival I spent a lot of time cleaning/tidying/disinfectant spraying the lounge/kitchen/dining room/bathroom. Ended up with me eating sitting on a sofa and 4 people at the dining table. In order to keep control and not end up going to anyone else's house or an indoor restaurant I grudgingly suggested an Indian delivery for Sun eve at our house. So Sat after they left I started spraying/cleaning anywhere which may have been touched - banisters, door knobs etc. Ditto Sunday although at least I started the day with a run, Zoom church and church coffee. The friend, Mr N's best mate but one who is great in small doses, is a real conversation-dominator so I found the whole weekend very stressful. We haven't been inside a house with anyone except my mum and brother for months. Plus I had a phone call to say that, after the joy of my niece's son (the lad who had a brain tumour at 14 and still has visual and concentration difficulties) gaining 3 A levels, his mum is now diagnosed with breast cancer. Then this morning we heard that our friend undergoing 2nd lot of chemo for stage 4 ovarian cancer has just had a fall and broken her leg. Sorry enough moaning but I'm just feeling a bit overwhelmed at present. Anyway breathe.......today was lovely, the house is clean and tidy, washing is ready to go on, Mr T c&c order has been put in ready to collect tomorrow and my brother, who is no trouble at all, is visiting for a couple of hours. So I'm good.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.7 -

Morning all
Oh well, back home and back in the WAC... time to start my day, will get myself ready and then log on to work early to sort emails and prioritise tasks for this week. WM is loaded so I will start that off before I hop in the shower.
Have a good one all, hugs to any who are in need x7 -
Narco that does all sound stressful, and sorry to hear you had bad news. I have family visiting for a BBQ on Thursday which I was pushed into a little, us having the biggest garden, not sure what will happen if it rains.
Just finished yoga, 10 hour day at the paid stuff yesterday ended with a horrible meeting, where yet another colleague was making my life difficult. Team work is lacking at my workplace at the minute. I need to be at a site visit at 8am so better get in the shower. Kitchen did get cleaned yesterday and both windows done inside and out!
Round hope the work move goes OK. I should have stood up for myself better last night but I wasnt quick enough to think what I wanted to say.
