kitchen and bathroom cleaned. Bit of ironing done and I have left my fan downstairs. I spent most of this morning and part of this afternoon rubbing down the alcove walls in the study bedroom where we removed the cupboard, and then filling some more and repeating the process. Fayolle, I think your grandfather must have been looking over my shoulder and reminding me "Preparation, preparation, preparation!" It's certainly a great deal better than it was. I hoovered the study floor about 4 times - the sum total of my flying today.
I managed to plant up the dahlia tubers and lily bulbs that DS1 gave me yesterday (they had been in the bulb merchant's cold store all through lockdown, so are a few weeks behind, and only just shooting). I've got a load of gladioli corms to plant too, but it was far too hot today.
Rosie didn't want to go out for her walk because there were thunderstorms around. She went on sit-down strike after 200 yards, then raced home again.
I cooked roast chicken for tea (which cheered Rosie up) and we sat outside to eat, but just as we were about to clear the table and bring in the chairs there was an almighty crash of thunder overhead and the heavens opened. DH hasn't moved so fast for yonks! Only a short-lived downpour, but it has saved me watering the garden tonight - I'll do it in the early morning.
Off to bed now - hope the WAC members sleep soundly xx9 -
Morning all
WAC checking in, I’m just too hot to sleep! A belated thank you for the lists, I was up early yesterday in an effort to be productive both in flying and paid stuff before the heat got too much... kitchen and DR most levels done, dailies done and wm x1 swished and on the line before 7am.
The early start didn’t lead to the hoped for early finish so I was pooped and wilted in the evening resulting in not much more being done.
Similar plan for today I think, will tackle dailies and some of the list before starting paid stuff. I do also need to pop out to run an errand so that will also be done early.
Cool drink and some parrots for the brewing headache now I think...
Take care all x9 -
Morning all. Today I am going shopping. I know I have said this before but today I'm actually going to do it. And I need to hoover through the house.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.11 -
Morning all,
Yesterday passed in another blur of busyness. Stripped more wallpaper in DD room and cleared up all the associated mess, lagged the outside WM pipes (they always freeze in winter, lord knows why I haven't lagged them before now), some scrap put on the street (collected within minutes), took kids and dog for a long walk and picked a load of blackberries. Oh and did two loads of washing.
Today we are going to a local forest school thing which is free, then will wander down to the woods to forage yet more blackberries and also some kindling. My electricity bill has rocketed in lockdown, so I don't feel we will get the benefit of lower monthly usage when it comes to over dual fuel direct debit, so determined to get as much wood as possible and rely on the woodburner.Have fab days all xx11 -

Morning all. Yet another person popping in and moaning about the heat. Florida I can handle, the UK I can't.
House is still looking tidy after our blitz at the weekend but there are jobs that still need doing. Today I'm planning on:
- Washing the floors downstairs
- Sort out the kitchen drawers
- 1 load of laundry (where does it all come from, there's only 2 of us in the house!)
- Get a quote for our front door canopy to be replaced (it's been falling down since we moved in)

Morning, checking back in.
The princely bucket was overflowing this morning, so has been traded in for a handsome crate instead. I've got a timer on the go to work out how long it's going to take to fill up, then I can plan alarms to empty it in good time.
I have pulled out 3 carrier bags of stuff for charity shop from airing cupboard junk that I decanted into the bath yesterday. I have sorted out porch cupboard and hanging rail as well this morning, so just the baskets on the wooden shelves to declutter (again, I swear I did it 6 weeks ago, but it is spiralling out of control)
Living Room was quickly straightened and the young Skints and I have headed out to drop of donations and to have Eat Out to help out breakfast at local Prem!er !nn by seaside. 3 of us have late breakfast for £4.50 no cooking dinnertime, it's a no brainer.
Then off to shipping container to sort a few more bigger bits for donation, then assemble new big upright fan and get some work done off listy for today.
Time to fill my tum, check in later xxxThe cold never bothered me anyway9 -
Morning all,
Active WAC member reporting in. I went to water the allotment early - to discover other (non-flylady...I presume) WAC members doing the same thing. As I went pre-cuppa, I was not at my best to handle conversations! Hairdresser called to see if I was still ok for today’s appointment. We agreed to just have a good cut today, and to decide about colour but not actually do it for a couple of weeks. As she has been cutting and colouring my hair for 30+ years (eek!), she knows it better than anyone, and is dubious about me Going for Grey. We will see how this pans out later...So far - and this maybe it for the day - I have
put on wm x 1, at least one more queuing
emptied dw
got something for dinner from freezer. Pasta 5 days in a row was going to push it, even for us.
picked our first plums.
I need to sort out the fridge which is full to bursting, and also freeze down some bits. Right now, I think I am about to do an Olaf and melt into a puddle...
I am with Rosie today - a sit down strike sounds very attractive.11
