Have a lovely holiday, Jazee x
Thank you all for the nice comments about Rosie. That picture was taken after she had shaken herself and found somewhere (relatively) dry to lie down - prior to that, she was absolutely dripping with rain and looking at me with big soulful eyes! You would not have thought it was the same dog if you had seen her playing happily with the soon-to-be-guide dog yesterday.
Yesterday afternoon, as the 2nd coat of emulsion dried out, I decided that I couldn't live with the brightness of the apricot (it was definitely flesh- rather than skin-coloured) so after tea I hied off back to Beeanqueue and bought some more paint of a similar tone but 3 shades lighter. The first coat went on very easily first thing this morning and is exactly what I wanted. Then I looked more closely at how to claim under the manufacturer's money-back guarantee and realised that I should have overpainted only 1 square meter and then taken a photo. Dooohhhhhh!!! So I have just painted a large area of the light switch wall in the darker colour so that I can then paint a square of the lighter colour in the middle of itIs it really going to be worth employing the decorator? Yes, it is - my shoulder's aching, though that could be down to the overnight rain and damp. Hey-ho.
I have decided to follow Narc0's example and only post what I have actually done, not try to set myself impossible goals. I am supposed to be retired, after all!
Hope everyone has a good day with rain if you need it and want it xx

Morning (again x)
Have a good holiday Jazee xx
Are you back home piggers? You are very quiet xx
Well that was just plain annoying! Tired all day. Went to bed at 10.30 and PING: wide awake...could not get to sleep! Managed to doze off eventually then had a weird dream and woke up and stayed awake for hours, Then went to sleep and woke up at 8.15 with brain fog and half a headache. If I thought I could get back up again I'd throw myself on the floor and have a paddy. It wouldn't solve anything but that's the best way to describe how I feel. Brew No 1 hasn't shifted it. Brew 2 and breakfast might help - it's worth a try.
I did keep pootling a little yesterday afternoon: two loads of washing done and draped on airer; towels eventually dried outside so brought them in and folded them; two boxes de-labelled, ripped up and recycled. Then watched F1 quali highlights and Robert Downey Junior in a Sherlock Holmes film - strange casting but once you're over that it's good....though I do think they might have warned me that I would see Stephen Fry with no clothes on. Mrs Watson was not the only one who was surprised!
Plan: brew 2, parrots and breakfast. Then get dressed.
Have a good day

Ok we have just had some very proper scary rain, drain covers came up, garden is flooded, but draining away to the field. Local roads are flooded and a couple of cars are submerged, local fire station is on 6 call outs, including a building hit by lightening strike and is on fire, but the heavy rain is helping put it out. My front garden is also flooded.Row row row your boat...................Do you know if you are deaf and have a battery book you can get a disabled railcard for discounts!! Disabled Person's Railcard.

Checking in and it’s not even still morning. DSis and BiL coming for lunch, I’ve not seen them since Boxing Day. DH is grumpy, insists that they will not SD, agreed they could come but doesn’t really agree, it seems. Of course none of this has anything to do with the volume of alcohol he consumed last night at the SD bbq, including port ...
Salads chopped and primped. Quiche done. That will suffice.
Ouch, dancemum. Gentle hugs for you.
Kaz - are you ok? It sounds scary.6 -
OK guys you will not see another one of me for a while now lol Just wanted to show now my hair has settled down after a week. And what is it with having to use purple shampoo...lol
Oh and I'm sort of smiling...
