I know this is in Scotland, but which city or town in Scotland? I know of at least one that is back under a local lockdown, which will slow down responses from offices.

I have also received this letter too stating for £1500. I have no disclosed driver. Did you get any luck contacting the landowner?
How come you've racked up that many parking tickets?  The higher the number, the more likely the PPC is to try a punt at the Sheriff Court. Keep your eye out for potentially more serious paperwork.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

What, you seem to be thinking because you got a debt letter (everyone gets those) that you are in a 'mess' (you are not, it's a bog standard debt crawler letter!) and that the advice about Scotland is wrong?  It's not.

  • Heard conflicting things, so should I ignore this letter, it does say this letter is your notice legal proceedings will commence in ur local sheriff court since prev correspondence has been ignored. It then goes onto saying do not ignore this letter and should you wish to make a payment.

Your choice , but there is no legal liability in Scotland against a keeper , whereas there is against an admitted driver

If your scenario was correct , then how come Carly Mackie got hit for about 25 grand a few years ago ??

Google her , she was an admitted Driver !! There is no conflicting story about an admitted Driver

A keeper is not the same as an admitted driver , hence keepers tend to ignore the debt collector letters in Scotland whereas admitted Drivers should quake in their boots !!!

You can identify a debt crawler letter as opposed to a real Letter before Claim, by looking up the Scottish Simple Procedure pre-action protocol and we expect that what you have there doesn't meet what a Scottish LBC should contain in terms of deadlines and info.  Compare it.

I suggest you start your own thread if you want further help. The OP of this thread appears to have a completely different situation to yours.

  • I'm jumping on to say I've received a letter myself, heard nothing so far and this was some time ago. Someone I know however, also in Glasgow, received the same letter and has since been served simple claim papers. They are being asked for north of £3000, so of course they're worth having a stab at.
You merely adopted the PCN. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn't see this forum until I was already a man.

But is your friend's case from the same parking firm?  Only a couple try Scottish claims. VCS is one.
