Kirk Hill was going great guns until mid-morning (thank you Storm Bert!) when the telemetry dropped offline. I'm wondering whether it's a telemetry outage (not uncommon), load shedding or if the power lines have come down in the storm.
I guess we'll find out when Ripple get around to telling us!

Edit: back on-line circa 1445. Now generating 15.8MW, ~85% of nominal output.

    2.72kWp PV facing SSW installed Jan 2012. 11 x 247w panels, 3.6kw inverter. 34 MWh generated, long-term average 2.6 Os.

  • Hi Guys,

didnt get the chance to join the agm, any key pointers? also noticed that the price per kilowatt for the next 3 months has been released also, interesting variation between the providers.

Fortunately it has been recorded and will be available for all to view. All two hours of it.

Apparently the difference in price between suppliers is not discouraged as it pormotes competition between them. Once British Gas and another come on board in the next six months or so then Ripples suppliers will cover 70% of the population so leaving plenty of choice for all those previously concerned with there only being one or two in the very early days.

  • ah great, thanks for the heads up bud, i look forward to it watching it, i assume at 2 hours, there was some 'debate'
  • Yes, lots of questions, about an hours worth, so good of Ripple to stay the course and provide answers.
Sarahs section in the middle was interesting with regard to the new GB Energy and how they have already had a discussion with them regarding the growth of Community energy generation to 8GW's. Apparently Ripple are by the far the largest Community based generator being almost twice the scale of all others combined.
I came away feeling very positive about the future of Ripple and Community Energy generation in general.

Ok, it’s not wind but it’s something to do with Ripple. At only 40 MW the locals are on board and as the Council says it is “somewhat discreet”. This is how it should be done.

The case officer report, which was presented to the committee, indicated that Wiltshire Council had received 56 letters of support and 92 letters of objection to the scheme.

Although Wiltshire Council has previously expressed concern over the cumulative impact of solar farms in the county, the case officer report noted that the Eden Renewables proposal is “somewhat discreet”.

Just received an e-mail from Ripple, the relevant bit being:

We are aware of the ‘strike off’ notice issued to Kirk Hill Wind Farm Limited. Note, this relates to the SPV not the coop.

Anyone got any idea what this is about?

Yes, looks like failure to file accounts on time.
