Kaz - keep an eye on your credit report 'just in case'.
Raining here (bad) means I don't have to water the garden (good). Missed seeing an ebay sale on Sunday - must get it packed as today's last dispatch day!
Spoke to sis about my party ... she's suggested I defer until next year, which makes sense but I'm not sure I can be bothered and just feel like totally cancelling. I'm definitely not having it this September. Need to inform venue.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Aaarrrgh! So much to do so little time!
Just lost a long post as messages keep pinging in and I accidentally pressed back on my tablet. Gah! Oh well, I'll try to recap my progress later... just finished cuppa, now need to spot treat 8 week old chicks and move them to the outdoor kennel area, which is a stepping stone to being free-ranging when they are a little older. Then the stable can be cleaned, ready for the huge batch of 5 week old birds who are needing more space.
30+ chicks hatched yesterday, which is lovely, but creates a shed load of extra cleaning too, and I only got about four hours sleep last night, so am the walking dead.8 -
Newbie to the forum here. I used to do the Flylady thread years ago, but under a different email address that I no longer use. My house is complete chaos and I am fed up of always feeling behind with it. So, I'm coming back to Flylady to try and take baby steps towards a cleaner home. Missed Monday, so will try and do both today as I have a day off. Will come back in and cross off as I do them!

Valli - I've always said that I would have a party on my 60th birthday - that sort of dissolved into a meet and greet and sarnies at the village pub sounds like a good idea, but I didn't do anything about arranging it with the covid scenario descending. Now the date is rapidly approaching and nothing seems like a good idea....what are you going to do? Part of me is thinking just forget it and the party girl in me is stamping her foot and insisting that we do something.
Would all flyladies please pray, wish, cross fingers, blow flylady purple dust. ...DS has an interview for a job with the Council at 12.30pm. He's nervous. I feel sick!!!
Round 1 is completed + clean clothes taken upstairs.
Round 2 = lunch: I'm going to be an ill sitting hen until DS comes home. Going to lose myself in a book while he's gone.

Welcome MrsTeaDrinker, I've also taken the plunge to come back to Fly Ladying this week because I was fed up of my house being a mess!
Sending all the good luck vibes to your son Round!

Afternoon all (just!) and welcome back MrsTeaDrinker.
Yesterday disappeared in a haze of tiredness, though I did manage to wrap about 15 parcels and post a large box containing 6 of them for DS2 and family - fortunately not as pricey as when I posted 1.5kg of bread flour to them near the start of lockdown!
Today so far I have
- made some phonecalls
- sent some emails
- sorted out washers, keys, plastic blocks etc for twiddle muffs for men, being made by members of our local scrubs group
- hoovered upstairs and down
- finished hoovering out my car (started yesterday but had to give up when the Dy$0n ran out of juice) and replaced mats, shopping bags, de-icer (!) etc
- sorted out where we might meet DD&Co next week: Blenheim is equidistant, and Rosie is allowed in the grounds, so Fayolle it's unlikely that we shall go as far south as the M4, but thank you so much for your offer to doggysit. Another time, maybe, when we're nearer to you?
Good luck to your DS, round. Sorry to hear about his GF's job going up in a puff of smoke: hope she gets another soon.
(((Hugs))) to YL, all who've had to cancel birthday celebrations / holidays / hairdresser's appointment or anything else because of the wretched Covid, all who got woken up rudely this morning or didn't get enough sleep - in fact, I'll just make that (((hugs))) to everyone xx8 -
Ironing done; cards writen and parcels wrapped. One hasn't been paid for yet but I really need to go.
I was having a buffet and music and dancing with a carefully curated playlist. I had arranged to borrow the disco speaker from work, too.
I could have had a sit down, plated buffet for 30 people -but now they've cancelled receptions etc for 30 even that can't go ahead now. In the grand scheme of things it's nothing o make a fuss about.

Took the dogs for a quick walk then the heavens opened so I needn't have watered the garden earlier. I've entered a competition and that is it.Spend less now, work less later.9 -
