Rather warm today! As it's children's bedrooms and I refuse to do mine (they are old enough to do it themselves) I'm just going to work through my own list. I put the washing machine on early so as not to heat the house up further. Laundry sorted. The plan now is to make the place look tidier which will involve throwing anything that is in the wrong place into the room of the person who owns it.

Ladies, I have FLOWN. Today's achievements:
- all beds remade with fresh bedding
- dug out four huge old roots in front flower bed whilst attempting to find soil pipe - not yet found, spade is bent and it's too hot out front now to carry on. Any idea how far below ground toilet soil pipes would be?- washed the inside of all the living room windows (4, and they're huge) and cleaned the window sills
- cleaned the front door and outside sills with elbow grease and pink stuff
- cleaned the outside of the W/C window ( previously couldn't be reached easily due to big manky plant outside which I have dug up as part of operation sort-this-flipping-drainage issue out once and for all!- watered plants at 6am
- water butt moved to its new home next to bins
- hoovered and mopped through downstairs to get rid of mess brought in by me
- door mats just finished in the machine and all go on the line
- showered, and we have just had lunch.
BBq for later accompanied by wine for me I think!9 -
Wow asb that's an achievement in this heat!! Been to Primark with DS1, he wanted t-shirts and socks and picked up a blazer reduced to £10. I didnt buy anything (which I am pleased about).
The scan results are in. The scan is not completely clear but the consultant is not sure what the bone marrow "activity" is so we just have to wait and see. He will be monitored with regular blood tests, clearly there is not enough evidence of cancer to warrant further treatment which is good and we have to be positive. Not sure how I feel about it right now.
Anyway DS1 has gone to a friends, DH still at work so its me and the dog. Have washed DS2s bedding and dusted in there. The window needs cleaning but its just too flippin hot. Feel restless and fidgety so I am going to empty out my tin and packet cupboard and make an inventory. I must start to try and get my food shopping spending down.9 -
I did the work thing again. Ugh, it's too hot, but at least the micromanaging-not-my-manager-but-tries-to-anyway person isn't back for another fortnight.
The kitchen is looking suspiciously clean again. He might have even cleaned the coffee machine last night when I was knocked out by a heat induced migraine from 4pm.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll9 -
We had a beach day.. ate ice cream and chips and dug holes.. and wee'd in them!
Love beach days!
NEARLY MONDAY... NEARLY MONDAY...
Valli.. good news we the nest flying.. I was married with 6 children by 27.. not that I think everyone should do the same, but I am always amused by how different other people are. DS1 (29 next month) is still at home, DS2 (25), DS3 (21) DD3 (19).. she will be the next to move out.. and Moomin (17) are still at home to.
SQUEAK IS 10!! We had a double digit birthday on Tuesday.. she doesn't like cake so she had a chunky kitkat with candles and haribo..

Happy belated double-digit birthday to Squeak x
Well done in this heat, asb. Our soil pipe is about 2ft down, but where yours is will depend on the slope of your land.
Sorry your DS's scan wasn't completely clear, YL, but glad he hasn't got to have any treatment atm xx
Woot woot, Valli!
I have spent a lot of time today going through Covid guidance and checking the War Games Club's risk assessment for using the church hall.
I mixed up some all-purpose filler and managed to plug a few holes in the walls and then hoover up the dust. Tomorrow I shall sand down the filler and make more dust, and hopefully get some paint on the patches on the bathroom walls.
We have been on the blower to the pharmacy and GP surgery to get hold of the right stuff for changing the dressing on DH's leg while he is unable to see the nurse. His chest seems better today.
I picked 350g of French beans and 150g of runners (they're called "stick beans" in these parts) and there will be more ready tomorrow. Tea was vegetable curry.
I took Rosie for her walk late, when I thought there was nobody else around, but when we got to the woods she could hear laughing, shouting and clinking of bottles and refused to go any further, so we came home again.
No test results here, yet.
ETA Saturday morning - our test results have come through. Mine is negativebut DH's is (typically!) unclear
so although neither of us has to self-isolate and he has no symptoms, he has to get another test done asap. At least I am free to go out and buy paint today

Morning xx
I've caught up with the thread, slurped my cuppa (still can't taste it) and WM is swishing towels and tea towels.
My sense of smell is weird now - clean clothes smell like Windowlene and cider smells like cat pee. After three manic and HOT days at the paid stuff I came home yesterday and downed two ciders (ignored the smell and I couldn't taste them but I felt the need for alcohol!)
Valli - DS is 27 fast approaching 28 and still here, tbf he was looking to find a place with GF this year but losing his job kyboshed that. So- fingers crossed that they both get a job and are out by the end of the year. I feel disloyal saying I'm ready for that but it's obviously a 'normal' feeling.
ionafan - welcome to the 'negative' club. Hope DH is feeling better as the abs kick in xx
I am chuckling at this polished, shiny and clean 'naughty' step ....only a true flylady would polish the step Fayolle, so you can forget about being fired. It's good to have company on the step - my spot is that dusty patch with the large booty imprint.
jojo- thank you xx You made me feel better about feeling bereft at not being able to properly celebrate my 60th.
Hugs all round to start the weekend methinks. Extra squishy hugs for those who've had a 'difficult' week in any way.
Well - I appear to be living in a !!!!!! tip or, maybe, it's a landfill? with a roof? I'm frantically trying to put the blinkers back on and reverse on to the naughty step but WW is not having it.
Round 1 =
get washed and dressed
feed birds
top up birdbath
breakfast
I am sooo tired so it will have to be baby steps but there will be steps. Thus spake Zarathustra - oh wait...no...it was WW

Good morning all,
Lots of weekend hugs going out to everyone.Round, you make me laugh! X Just for you, I spent all yesterday dusting your end of The Step, rather than attempt any flying 😉.
I am about to dash to the allotment whilst part of it is still in the shade. DH watered it yesterday before I got home, and told me there is picking to do. It does make me wonder why he just didn’t do it then...
Back later, as it will be too hot to be out for long. Have a lovely day all x8 -
Morning all. Dailies are done and we're planning a day pottering in the garden but oh boy it's so hot already.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.10 -
Weekend progressing, 4 grandkids are ok, the other 2 (not seen them recently) but there is something wrong with them, I am sure it is not kids mucking around, they are behaving in the most odd fashion, even their cousins said they are not talking to us and are odd, so far they have not even said hello to me, they have been here since yesterday afternoon.OH and I have also fallen out ~~ so I am keeping out of the way of everybody as I think it is safest.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles
