Wooo hoo we have our offer
    35 working days later
    Timeline:
    19th August - Applied
25th August - Found out they had lost my application
27th August - Documents certified in branch
    9th Sept - Valuation
11th Sept - First assessment and more documents requested
14th Sept - Additional documents sent
17th Sept - Stupidly realised I missed one doc so sent that causing the queue wait time to reset
    2nd Oct - Documents reviewed
5th Oct - Spoke to Leeds on the phone. They wanted details of rental properties but told them there was no rental properties and they urgently contacted the team to pass this on
7th Oct - My solicitor receives an email with the offer
  • Does anyone know what the process is with Leeds after valuation and me signing mortgage declaration but before full approval issued? The first bit was really quick and my broker made the full application on Monday 28th Sept, I was "approved" the same day. Leeds decided it was a desktop valuation and I had the mortgage declaration form on the Friday morning 2nd Oct and signed it and sent it straight back. What am I waiting for now until the offer paperwork? Am I on the home straight or is there some hurdle I can still stumble at during this stage?

    Hi Guys,
just a little message of encouragement.. I know it seems horrible, our wait was 7 weeks but when you get your offer and eventually you get the keys to your house.. you will forget the wait! Three weeks on from receiving our offer, we completed yesterday! just keep your eye on the goal, it is worth it 😊
Completely true. My wait wasn’t as long as yours, we got to 24 working days in the end but exchanged and completed just over a week later. It was worth it in the end.
  • We are on working day 12 now..still waiting for the application to be assessed. When we applied the turnaround time was 11 working days. Shall we be looking at what the turnaround time sas when the application was submitted or what it is now? I know it's probably only a matter of days, but you all know the feeling 🙈
22/09 - application submitted with Leeds BS, long story short, on the 9/11 we've been told that Leeds is reducing the amount they're willing to lend by nearly £20k (turns out our broker FORGOT to declare our child on the application)
10/11 - found another mortgage advisor
11/11 - AIP with Santander (single applicant, shared ownership, 85LTV)
    12/11 - all documents sent
13/11 - application with Santander submitted and passed to underwriting. Valuation booked for 23/11
19/11 - mortgage agreed, subject to a satisfactory valuation
    23/11 - mortgage offer issued
    19/12 - completed

Just to update you guys. Leeds declined, the reason was the state of bank statements 🤯 which I don’t understand - they are being very picky! . They did offer a Lower amount however we are probably going with a different lender now. 😩
  • I sent some additional documents today, just to get ahead of the game as I imagine they will ask us for them anyway. Does this automatically push our case to the back of the queue even though we are due to be reviewed again by October 13th?

Ohh no! Which lender are you planning to go with now? (It should hopefully be quicker with another lender...) and what did they mean by the state of the bank statements?
