How long are people finding it takes after account opening for the debit card to arrive?  Keen to get that £500 spent!

Pin arrived after 4 days and card arrived after 6 days
But others will tell you a different story.
I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
    There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.

    Quick maths query
    £6.25 per month = 1.5% Interest
    Have I got that right?
Correct, assuming you are a non-taxpayer and can reclaim the tax deducted at source.
    Thanks,
Sounds like leaving the £5000 in the account is a good option then, as that beats most savings accounts
Or you could whack the £5k in a savings account and get some interest as well as the £5 reward for the debit card spend... a have your cake and eat it too kind of thing

Well I can see my account has been switched in today but no £100 yet. How have people been receiving confirmation of the switch being successful?

Mine has switched and I received text confirmation. When checking my old TSB account it is visible but has been renamed Personal Switch Out Account with the sort code account number and balance still visible. No £100 as yet.

Same. My switch completed today but no bonus yet. Having read most posts it may go in later tonight or tomorrow.

Tomorrow you'll notice it's gone. I done a TSB switch last month and had the same. The account will vanish likely through the night.

Or equivalent... if you are a brt payer and pay tax on savings interest...
Or a higher rate taxpayer who earns more than £500 in interest, or an additional rate taxpayer.
But if you are a taxpayer the situation is more complex because there are also tax free savings vehicles one could consider - in which case it is not equivalent to a 1.5% interest rate.
I don't doubt what you say; I was thinking for comparative purposes on cash accounts, circumstances that don't get mentioned that often.
What other vehicles were you thinking of that maybe of use to those in that boat, in case we're (I'm) missing something?

I just helped a friend with his switch request.

He logged in online and clicked on switch your account. Got "Something went wrong. We had to log you out". So he logged in once more. This time, he didn't get logged out but did not manage to get past the second screen because Halifax did not recognise their own sort code and account number. We double and triple checked - both, the sort code and account number entered were definitely correct.

He then logged into the app and could complete the switch request without problems.

Weird. At least he didn't have to phone them, though.
