Thanks to everyone who’s pointed out that I can use the debit card to part pay the credit card. Unless they change the rules I’ll be £60 a year to the good.
Not all credit card accounts accept payment by debit card, so some people might find it worth checking in advance of a move

Apologies for resurrecting this old thread - and asking a question covered before. But I just wanted to clarity what transactions relating to 'money transfers' qualify for the £500 debit card payment requirement to trigger a reward payment monthly.
Am I correct in assuming that if you use your debit card to say pay £500 into a cash savings account (recorded by Halifax as financial institutions merchandisers and services) you would not qualify for a monthly reward - but if you used the debit card to pay off a £500 credit card bill for example you would?
I tried the former - and its not showing me as qualifying for the monthly reward - as its 'a money transfer to another account'.

Thanks in advance for your help on this!
