@520d2012 As an update, I've just had a text confirming our mortgage offer is in the post. Checked the Track It option and the full offer letter is there. It was a bit of a surprise, as originally they said they would do a desktop valuation, before changing their minds, so it seems they've changed it back again?! (we are buying my Mum's house off her, so I know they haven't been round!) We applied the day after you, so hopefully you will have yours soon too. Fingers crossed!0

Update from me, applied on June 16th and was accepted subject to valuation July 9th when the the issue started. The valuation was panelled to Legal & General who originally said it would be a desktop valuation (interesting considering it’s a new build and nobody does a desktop one on these...) before then deciding 3 weeks later they needed a physical valuation. I got fed up last week as it still hadn’t been booked in so called my developer, provided them with the contact number for L&G and got them to book the valuation directly. Valuation is now booked in for this Thursday (13th) so hoping I’ll have my offer by next week which will be 2 months in total.

anthonyha said:Hi All, I am a FTB with Barclay Family Springboard through a broker. Been 3 weeks since application. My MB is responsive but not a great communicator so it's a struggle to keep on top of where we are. Last update was that we are waiting for survey to be instructed, anyone know how long this might take and how long the surveys are taking? MB seems confident that all is moving in right direction but says he has to be on hold for 50 mins each time he calls for an update. Can I call them myself?
i got this on 07/07 , valuation 23/07 .If it’s MA - works for Barclays ( internal ) yes you can call them .
if it’s a MB - works for himself Barclays pays him commission - no Barclays will redirect you .I was calling Barclays on Friday afternoon I waited 6 minutes for connection,0 -

They also gave me a case ref so I can now track progress on TrackIt.
Gave the MB a rocket down the phone. Feel like ditching him and doing it myself but don't want to undo any progress so far.1 -

What I can tell you know if that there is a 4 working day turnaround to review submitted documentation. My wife is self-employed so they asked for 3 months of business accounts, which we sent same day. Then 5 days later they asked for the Memo of Sale on our current property. Tomorrow will be the 4th working day, really crossing fingers they don't ask for anything else!
Our MB has told us they will not instruct a valuation until the Underwriting process is complete
Would be great to get any feedback from people following this post to see what the typical timescale is from Valuation to Offer going out? The formal application went in on July 14th, so my wife and I were starting to get very twitchy!!0 -
Usually the following morning! If it’s all straightforward valuation wise0

Wow - well done to all those who have had offers come through!I am currently on holiday and did well to stay away from this so I didn’t stress myself and the family out.
Nevertheless I have been advised my mortgage has gone to offer!
I am over the moon and so happy - it’s been a great week.
I hope paper work is there when I get back.
Thanks to all those who PM’d me with words of encouragement and for those of you still waiting please be patient I hope it goes your way.
Final figures - some are estimated as my MA was busy so delay in getting info to me
DIP 17/07
Full App - 20/07
Desktop Valuation - 24/07
Further Info - 04/08
Offer - 09/080 -
We are currently in the Barclays mortgage process, we had a desk top valuation scheduled for last week but they then changed their mind to do a physical valuation which is booked in for this Thursday. I am not surprised that they want to do a physical valuation as the property is a grade 2 listed cottage. We were told by our mortgage broker that on the system all the boxes appear to have been ticked so the offer all rides on the valuation. We are 76% LTV. When should we hope for an offer/decision? I am a nervous wreck, my daughter is supposed to be starting school in September and today we found out she has a place at the school in the new area but I don’t know whether to accept it or not And when to tell them we should know by! Any advice very gratefully received!0
