Anyone currently applying through Barclays? MA is off - need realistic timelines

Submitted application over a week ago on a 80% LTV.
MA is on leave but said would message if he heard anything. Can’t check the case as I don’t have details and even if I did not sure I’d want to.
Just want to ask out there whether anyone else going through with Barclays and what timelines are like?
Thanks in advance

I applied early March and got my offer in June. It was a horrendous experience and was constant chasing but no one had answers.

Oh no - was there any issues such as furlough or additional enquiries etc?
I am not fussed and in reality expect a bit longer given the current circumstances etc, however my solicitor wants a advance payment to start the legal work, which I would rather not until I know mortgage is approved.
Been stung before with house sellers - so try not to waste money

I had zero issues, wasn’t furloughed and was a straight forward case. They are just horrendously slow and disorganised. There was lockdown which messed them up, but even after that was lifted all they had to do was the valuation and it still took weeks.

Was any offer made subject to valuation or did everything get put on hold?
I assume it was a physical valuation? There seems to be a lot of talk about automated valuations. Do you know why they did a physical on yours.
Not sure what to make of the process - seems stressful compared to earlier in the year?
Glad you got the approval in the end

I submitted full application on 19th June, documents they requested a couple of days later, desktop valuation done and then full offer on 21st July. Nothing to complain about and within the timescale suggested by my MA.

Solicitors will often ask for money to fund the search fees in advance. As soon as the mortgage offer is received they can then commence work. Otherwise some time gets lost.

My solicitor has received the Memorandum Of Sale and advised she will request the contract pack after which she will order the searches.
I’d like to get a approval before that happens and if not I’ll just pay
    Thanks

Well done - how did you get through a month with all the stress. Did you get regular updates?
My worry at the moment is whether the valuation is physical or automated as the house we’re looking at is in a high risk corona area - not sure anyone will want to go out there at the moment

If you want to be depressed then I submitted my application on June 16th, I’m still waiting for my offer. It was accepted subject to valuation over 2 weeks ago now, still waiting for it to take place even though they’re only doing a desktop valuation. My MB said they were escalating it yesterday so we’ll see how much longer it takes.... (it was a fairly straight forward application, employed in the NHS, no furlough etc).
