Did wonder that Myself. It's not exactly something everyone has in their schoolbag. Or do they? Who can tell these days.
Just spoke to the wee ones Mother. Just a bad cold, we think. She's a bit "chesty" and has a runny nose. No temperature or any other symptoms. She'll e here looking for her chocolate biscuit before we know it. It must be really worrying for parents (and teachers), though.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.4 -

Hi turtles!
Such a rainy blustery day here! I went for a quick walk this morning in the rain just because I enjoy a little rain walk. Did a new pilates workout too and some stretches for my back. Am reading a very interesting book about improving your body's movement to avoid injury. It's really easy to follow and he explains the logic behind his theories in a way I can understand. Finding it very helpful so far and hope it'll help me with my back saga.
Anyway, not much else to report, a couple more NSD's which is good, although I've spent too much overall this month so not so good. Got paid yesterday so finalised next month's budget and it's looking absolutely fine. Plus have some extra work lined up for next month too which keeps me out of trouble and will help me pay off my recently purchased blinds.6 -
Morning everyone, sorry for lack of posting. I decided to put my house up for sale! DD1 is buying a house with her boyfriend & DD2 is about to start final year of uni & doesnt intend to return home afterwards so I thought now's the time..... Have therefore been mad busy since friday tidying & decluttering the house to make it presentable. DD1 & bestie have helped with trips to the tip & CS & DD1s bestie has stored a few things in her house. I still have far too much stuff though so I'm going to be spending most of my spare time sorting it through. I'm really nervous about it & whether I'll find anywhere to buy...
I'm glad I no longer have to shop for school shoes!
Gratitudes - help from DD1 & her bestie; neighbour who supplies me with homegrown tomatoes; Bay of E sales.

The school did try employing a young(ish) male teacher and it was a complete failure. He couldn't cope at all, finally ended up in tears and his chaotic class were subdued by one of the most fearsome teachers (known as *enstein) and left after one term.

Yesterday started as a bit of a write-off. I was going to go into town, thinking the rain would put people off, but then the rain increased and I thought being wet through before I got to the end of the street wasn't good. Did more cleaning and tidying (think I'm actually behind with last week's tasks but choosing to believe I'm ahead for this week.
It's mum's birthday on Saturday and I have a plan. Stage one arrival of food and supplies has been carried out - ordered yesterday evening and delivered before 8 am this morning (chose the 8 am until 9 am slot as I would still have time to go into town if the weather was reasonable - it's not, at all). I know one person is bringing a present on Saturday, but not sure if they are stopping for a chat. I don't know if the 'paperboy' will come or whether his gift will be delivered by the first person. I think DS2 and gf might come as he said he would still come to see us (from the wilds of Sale - or the very civilised, over the border in Cheshire Sale if you prefer) and he asked at the beginning of the month, what date her birthday was. Mum's elder grand-daughter might turn up, with or without my brother (he's also very vulnerable).
So I've planned a party/ buffet menu, bought some paper plates and platters and will make up mini party selections. If the weather's good, they can choose to stay (socially distanced - either through the gate or in the yard) or take a plate or box away with them and send mum a photo/ greeting by email). I've gone for bought cakes, the individually wrapped ones for lunchboxes, people can pick up the one they want without touching the others and I don't know how much time I will have. Friday is allocated as food prep/ cooking day - I will wear mask and gloves for doing it. Gone for some easy stuff (crisp, cheese and crackers, going to make sugar free jellies with a whole bag of defrosted frozen berries in - there are some stainless steel dishes somewhere that hardly ever see the light of day), I have some back up items frozen (tandoori lumps, some cooked meats) in case I am running out of time and will modify some recipes (egg and peanut roll will be made up into meatball sized lumps). Any leftovers will make a rolling buffet for mum and me throughout the weekend and will have some for mummy of twins (and cake, bubbles and sweets to take home) if she visits next week.
I'm going to scrub the visitor's chair and tie something onto one of the other chairs so that we have two clearly identifiable visitors chairs. Small table (also needs scrubbing) will be covered with paper (mum has a roll of blue with multi-coloured balloons) and a further covering of clear plastic (the stuff mum's mattress was delivered in) if I think it's prudent. I need to make a banner and party bags (bubbles and sweets for smalls). I think I have enough healthy options and I splashed out on a carrot cake which I love and covers vegetarian gd (pretty sure some things are vegan but need to check in case DS2's gf is vegan - think not as they bought us chocolate). I need to make a banner (uses up most of some pretty papers I don't need but can't throw away).
Last night's storms broke the empty milk bottles, threw the visitor's chair into the middle of my cabbage patch and turned the polytunnel inside out - sideways, so it's still okay on the nearside. I was planning to bring in some of the peppers and chillies and start some herbs and salad leaves indoors so will do that, see which of the tomato plants are finished and then prep for overwintering and next year's layout (more shelves for seeds, narrow beds down one or both sides).
So today clear up, clean, tidy, plan. Thursday, dash to town whatever the weather (may be taxi/ quick round of essentials), Friday cooking and prep, Saturday party/ relax (and Dr Who fest).
Today I am grateful for years of childhood poverty (quite a bit of adult near poverty as well) meaning that I can make anything out of nothing, for enough money now to be able to cheat and take the easy option if short on time (could make a cake/s but then waiting for it to cool, cutting, individually wrapping and labelling NO). For my polytunnel (love my polytunnel) for having things I can still build with (recycled/ recyclable wherever possible), for the washing line (can't dry washing but plastic sacks and mattress wrapping can dry out there).

NSD No 17
Pouring again today. Himself kindly went out in the rain and wind and got my tomatoes and cucumber (he paid, hence the NSD) and posted the card.
My new clothes have arrived and I'm quite pleased with them. Once I get my hair sorted I'll look, at least, presentable whilst I'm trying to shed the pounds
Managed to dispose of another bag of unwanted rubbish whilst Himself was at the shops. He's promised (actually it was his suggestion) that he'll go through some paperwork next week and get rid of what is no longer needed. We might need another bin for that!!Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6 -
