I'm surviving by cuddling a 2 l bottle of water fresh out of the fridge. I am also throwing myself in the shower every now and then and letting my own body heat dry me. Have cooked 2 packs of sausages (all divided and frozen now) and made a quiche with chorizo and sweetcorn, had more to do but was too hot. I've brought all the remaining food (tins, crackers and 'condiments - passata, soy sauce etc) from the shed. More tins and pasta into the kitchen (spare cupboard space from parting with gadgetry) and took the last few tins out of the 'soupery' to start building a new stack. A little bit of garden tidying and quite a bit in my room but limited by how long I can cope with wearing a dress (yard is enclosed but I thin some of the 2-storey houses could see bits of the yard).
Have ordered mine and mum's pills and requested a district nurse to come out and take both our bloods and check on the ulcer on mum's leg (think I've fixed it but would like it confirmed). I also asked about flu jabs but the receptionist said they didn't have a date for their arrival. The doctor has to okay sending someone out and then will pass the relevant paperwork on to the district nurses who will contact us to say when they are coming. It just makes more sense to me for someone (one person) to come here rather than putting us both at risk, especially mum, by making multiple visits to the infirmary. Ordered more face masks including 4 (in different colours to the ones I have) for mum to wear.
Sky is grumbling but no rain. We've had a bit of a breeze (left all the doors and most windows open to let it flow) but still not cool enough to work outside. Today I am grateful for finding small places to put things, for getting some jobs done by pottering and plodding, for a good game and a good book (another 'first in the series' that I'm trying out)

Another hot one but a good breeze but so washed up lots of things that just need a wash before being put away. Got yesterday 's washing all ironed up and put away as well.
More out of the freezer for lunch and dinner. It's looking almost respectable now.
Smallest of the blonde bombshells went back to school today. Looked like a little model when she left and Miss Birdhanger from St Trinnians when she came back. Enjoyed every minute of it, though, so that's positive. Bigger one goes back tomorrow.
Have to confess I'm not doing so well with my giving up alcohol but not too bad. Just the odd G & T but I really have to try harder.
Off to read the news which is probably a bad idea.
Hope your parents are getting better, CCL.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6 -
Congratulations Calling! Enjoy your new freedom!
Haven't done anything other than work the last couple of days. It has been so blooming hot, barely sleeping and just sweating all the time. Couldn't even be bothered to cook a proper dinner as couldn't face creating any more heat! We had a fantastic downpour today though and things have cooled right down. I did make some frozen yogurt bars yesterday which are nommy and really helped cool me down.
Not much else to report. Am up to 9 NSD's. Just waiting for cc statement to come through so I can make my car repayment for the month and then I'm sorted.5 -
Great work Calling - hoping I will get to that great place one day :-)
Spent the day going through Citizenship application and am trying to stay patient with myself as I work through it, so many questions and so many details, I'm going grey!
I will be grateful the day I don't have to think about it anymore.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%
