morning all
planned on a long lie in but spotted the window cleaners across the road. Managed to shower and dress before they came back down on this side. In fact I was pegging out the washing. They've had my last £5 note - so I must remember I am down to coinage only.
Mulling over an offer of £8 for a strimmer I listed on fb for £10.
Pleased it's my BR for todays list - exactly what I wanted to do!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Have given myself a day off formal exercise today but strict instructions to self to do a lot of flying, gardening and admin. Er, so I haven't achieved much yet other than started washing up, tidied a few clothes away and put washing in basket. Oh, and I've dug out Ionafan's gooseberry pudding recipe.
We cycled to visit MIL yesterday as planned and took a picnic to eat in the park which was great. In fact we ate it early as Mr N had got the wrong visiting time.....sadly his mum was constantly agitated to the point of getting annoyed (her not us) because we had to sit the other side of the garden fence; the rest of the time she didn't make much sense. I did slightly better on the cycle home i.e. not stopping to walk or whimper. Another bonus was that the recently-finished, mark 2 masks worked well and were more comfortable than mark 1. Mr N has gone for a 'fast' cycle as evidently yesterday was too slow for him to get a raised pulse, but he's gone armed with containers to pick any wild plums.
Right enough planning; I'm off.

Round 1 completed + WM load 2 pegged out, and I've set WM swishing my duvet cover so that I can say - are you all sat down? - I've completed Level 1. It's only taken 10 years!! (I think it's 10 years, it was July and piggers was pregnant with Squeak when I first jumped on the flylady wagon).
Celebrating with a can of Pep$i Max - which I don't much like but I can't taste it so meh!
I've read the track and trace definition of 'close contact' and H and Dad don't actually meet the criteria so that's made me feel a bit better. Turns out my paranoia worked in my favour that time - 2 metres? Nah - let's make it 3 metres. (H measured it!!!) However I'm not visiting anyone ever again - except for piggers as long as I don't have headlice.
The sun is coming through. Are you near the East coast further down from here kaz? I'm in North Lincolnshire.

roundtuit said:Flying? I am actually on list. Don't faint.2 loads of washing on the line, upstairs dusted and de-webbed. I will vacuum later when I have washed my hair, otherwise it is just a waste of time. Icing on the cake? I have even done the bathrooms. Primarily because I couldn’t remember actually cleaning the bath and shower, although I think I might have done it at the weekend. Oh well, so that’s yesterday’s list done too 😁
I think that I will go to the allotment later this afternoon to pick some beans and anything else I can find. Tomatoes in the greenhouse have botrytis, despite being well ventilated. So that’s a blow for some of this year’s crop, especially when the hope was to fill the freezer with tomato sauces for the winter. That reminds me - I need to sort the freezer this afternoon so that some of yesterday’s shopping delivery can be shoe horned in. Mr M has already refunded me for the short dated goods, so a mark in their favour.6 -
DD is going to make tea tonight (Thai Green Curry) and DS's GF is cooking tomorrow night (I know not what) so I'm pleased as I am getting fed up of trying to think of stuff to cook.
Currently making ratatouille as had courgette to use (allotment produce - quantities are 'ramping up' now and will soon be 'world beating'. Fortunately I can pass stuff onto my friends A & D who will use surplus courgettes.) Also augergines were on offer in Mr L. Going to go there later as I want to benefit from Thursday offers and my tinned tomato stock is way too low. ie 1 tin.
bed stripped and airing though; bedding in WM ready for tomorrow.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

2.5 kilos of French beans to eat / freeze / do something with. And a bucket of spinach and 3 courgettes. Interesting dinners coming up, depending on your point of view.Spent this afternoon following some online instructions to deconstruct the waistband of a pair of jeans, take them in, and then put them back together. They won’t win Sewing Bee, but they are at least now wearable, and I’m pretty pleased with that. I have another pair to do the same thing to, but they might have to wait a week or two.6

Hi all
Another 9 hour day at the paid stuff. Tea ended up being fishcakes and chips out of the freezer. Delivery to food bank made. Sorted my office a bit more - my new cupboard is lovely and its going to make it so much easier to keep things tidy.
DS at hospital tomorrow for a scan, I am supposed to be having a day off but I have a report to finish first thing. Car in for MOT too.7 -
Envy your French beans Fayolle, the dreaded blackfly had a good nibble at mine. We've had one meal's worth of beans and may get a few more if lucky; however I planted a new batch a few days ago so fingers crossed.
Well after all my promises I did very well on the gardening, reasonable on the admin and not so brilliant at the flying.
- one load through WM
- Mr N came back from his cycle with lots of plums which he froze; he said there were loads more so we'll make another trip.
- Fed all greenhouse plants and baskets. Moved a few plants around - some to plant out, some to get more light etc. Sowed yet another batch of basil.
- Did a serious amount of weeding and watering.
- scheduled a Zoom meeting.
- Answered a few emails.
- Planted out 2 alliums which were cluttering up the kitchen!
- Made Ionafan's gooseberry cake. Eeek no wonder I don't lose weight, it's all her fault.
- watched an online presentation.
- Did some more general house tidying.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -
No flying achieved yesterday and I think it will be the same today as I'm having my hair cut between shifts. Once I finish today though I'm off for four weeks.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.9
