Home from work with a stinker of a headache. DD and DH have decided that it is fish and chips takeaway (delivery) for dinner tonight so they have sorted that out. Mr M has delivered the shopping, and got a short shrift email in return for sending unfreezable goods with a use by date of today. That was why I gave up with online groceries years ago - and not being able to get YS bargains!
Flying will hopefully resume tomorrow.

Hope your headache clears Fayolle.
Work and council meetings today but I have cleaned the tiles and high surfaces in bathrooms, got three wash loads done, two are dry, dusted various bits in living room, bedroom and office.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
Hi all
Long day at the paid stuff, tired now. My assistant made quite a bad mistake yesterday and I laid awake last night fretting about what to do, whether it was partly my fault, did I give her clear enough instructions, whether I should deal with it myself, whether I should let bosses know. In the end I had a chat with my line manager this morning and she helped me get it clear in my head. Its awful because I am at home so I couldn't even talk to my assistant face to face about it.
A little flying done. I am trying to make my officer a nicer space so I have bought a new cupboard. DS put it together but couldn't get the doors on so everything is half finished. Hoping DH will sort it in the morning, he will be quicker than me.
Bedtime soon. Early site meeting and I have loaded the car up to go to the foodbank tomorrow to take the things out of DSs shielding parcels that we will never use.8 -
I have ironed and done a bit of mending. Favour to DS's GF. Hemmed leg of trousers. I told her to stick her washing in with ours, more cost effective than her sorting it out as I run WM on night rate. Has to nip to Lidl as hadn't sorted tea, it ended up being chilli con carne as 5% mince in offer. Stuck 2 tins of kidney beans in and it made 6 portions. I had mince in the freezers but hadn't thawed it. Picked up frozen peas and sweet corn. They are in the shed freezer until needed. Am attempting to build up a stock of basics but need to buy more kidney beans. And Lidl never have the cheapest rice now. I forgot cat food but I may well go again tomorrow as there are some offer things I want inc, a new ironing board cover as mine is embarrassing. I've never been much of a preppier though I usually have uht milk in and cat food. I need to get some uht milk actually as I ran out.

How are you feeling, round? Tonight's BBC headlines say that the Health Secretary is going to announce that the virus isolation period is to be extended to ten days. xx
Hope your head is better, Fayolle xx
Enjoy your new cupboard YL xx
Today I have
- done and dried WMx4
- S&S'd kitchen and bathroom
- cleared DH's stuff off the kitchen table and tidied the LR
- written 4 - or was it 5? - long emails that all required concentration and accuracy, plus some short ones
- ordered DG2's birthday present
- weighed myself
- went out for lunch with my friend S at our nearest GC, where DH and I went last week. This was her first outing for weeks to a place that she doesn't know well. had a jacket potato and NO cake
- filled the car up with fuel and bought milk and bananas at the CoOp
- took Rosie for her walk
- cooked sausages for tea and gave some of mine to Rosie
- watched various bits of TV
- realised as i was about to get into bed that I had not yet transferred my eldest goddaughter's birthday gift into her account, so did it late in the evening but whilst it was still just her birthday7 -
Good morning
The headache has gone, thank you for concern, AND...drumroll...I slept all night! So far this morning, I have stripped and remade our bed, and the bedding is twirling in the wm. I am just having breakfast, then will tackle HHI and hang the washing outside. Blue skies, sunshine but breezy, so good drying weather. Later on I am dropping DD to small town as she is going out for a picnic with some friends. It will be a relief when /if she finds herself another job to occupy her and also to fund herself a bit.
I hope everyone is ok. Round - are you alright? x6 -

ionafan - I just read that news on the opening page of the laptop. I thought I'd be returning to work on Tuesday when my 7 days were up, looks like being the Friday. As I expected H's test came back negative - I hope it stays that way. My test will probably be negative too as they say the optimum time to test is 1 - 5 days (after symptoms appear) - might just squeeze in as Day 5 on Saturday. I have no idea when I'm supposed to return to work if I get a positive result - they'll have to tell me. But. thank you for asking, I'm fine - I just can't taste anything. Morning brew is a waste of a teabag and no delight at all. S&V crisps may as well be soggy cardboard and....worst case scenario: I can't taste chocolate!!!!! I tried eating a spoonful of sugar when I thought I was imagining things - couldn't taste it at all. I can smell stuff though. Bizarre. I'm a little paranoid that things may develop but if this is it - I'm lucky.
Natty - somehow I missed your post (just before mine yesterday). How very dare I inconvenience people so? I did the right thing; I was still reeling myself or else I would have been able to say 'I can assure you that I did not set out that morning thinking 'oh I'll infect you, you and you today' and I'm ok, thank you for asking. Oh, that's right - you didn't ask!'** Hugs to you and Dave xx
Flying? I am actually on list. Don't faint. I've thrown open my bedroom windows and stripped the sheet and pillow cases from my bed. I ought to have checked the weather forecast first as tomorrow will be a better drying day - I'll leave the duvet cover until tomorrow. Might take it off today ready to wash tomorrow - then I am properly on list. Sorry, thinking aloud here. I'll wait a while before testing the smoke alarm.... just in case the neighbours are still in bed.
I've had breakfast and WM is swishing, so
Round 1 =
get washed and dressed
feed the birds
fill the birdbath
bring in the emptied bin
WUDUPA
test smoke alarm
Thank you all for 'being there'. It means a lot to me
Rxx
PS where are you going for your hols piggers?
ETA I'm ok thank you Fayolle xx
**And my Dad just phoned to ask if I am ok - so my faith in humanity has been restored somewhat. Though he's still pigged off at having to stay in and his coach trip in November has been cancelled - not my fault that one!!!IT ONLY TAKES SMALL DAILY ACTIONSFOR MAGIC TO HAPPENRosemary Ikpeme6 -
Morning.( Creeps in quietly at the back)
How in the world is it Thursday already? I have sort of been flying off piste trying to play Tetris to declutter, but it's slow going.... accidentally took a big chunk out of DS bedroom wall trying to put his furniture where it fits, not how he shuffled it blocking the doorway (my gymnastics days are long behind me) so I now have to wait for the plaster to cure off before I put the room back together.
A nice dry day according to the forecast so I will try to get the WM on the go in a minute.
Hope everyone is ok....I will try to catch us with news on Fred in a bit xxx
The cold never bothered me anyway7 -
