  • Hi all. Update from us.
    AIP and application submitted 18/7.
Accepted and offer given 11/8. Thank goodness!!! It's an awful wait, I think I've put a lot of my friends of buying at the moment but thank goodness we are sorted. Good Luck everyone.

Great to hear congratulations! We are still waiting for our homebuyers' report which the earliest we could get was the 28th August even though we submitted on the 8th of July! So we seem to be progressing more slowly than others but at least we are still progressing!

Mines taken over 5 weeks now. Couldn't be a more simple case. 50%ltv, employed throughout. No debt. No monthly payments for anything other than a phone. Saving well over 1000 a month.
Getting ridiculous now and I'm starting to get frustrated that there are clearly majority of offers being given much quicker than mine (congrats to those that have got them).
I'm days away from losing the house - it's been a bit of a horror show the whole way through of being told one thing after another.

Regardless of the current situation, wouldnt touch Platform, or any CO-OP product, with a barge pole again. Not worth the hassle.

We have our offer. 90% LTV

Timescales - we applied 8th July, questions were asked and answered 23rd July, valuation completed 7th August, offer received a week later.

Basic valuation only. All fairly smooth to be honest, just took a little longer than hoped but not the end of the world for us.

Congratulations! We applied 8th of July also. We are a fairly straightforward case (Joint ownership, 85% LTV, Full-time employed, unaffected by Covid) and our valuation is booked for the 28th of August (home buyers report) so hopefully, we get our offer a week after that if all goes to plan. As you said we have had no issues at all it's just been frustratingly slow.

Looks like you’re on the home stretch. I think once valuation has been instructed you’re 90% there.

Hi, it’s so encouraging to see you all starting to get offers! I’m a bit behind, as my application went in on 5th August.
Originally I was intending to just stick with the free valuation, but I’m now considering upgrading to a Homebuyers survey, for additional peace of mind. Does anyone know if this might slow down/ speed up the process? I’m in the Greater Manchester area.
Obviously I don’t want to do anything to slow down the process even further...

I think it is best you leave it at the valuation and get your own Homebuyers survey completed independently.
We paid for a building survey which is booked in for 1st Sept. It was cheaper to pay for it through the bank but now I wish we would have just booked our own Building survey and had the valuation only with the bank. We submitted our application pack on 4th August. The building survey takes hours to complete so even if they had a cancellation, it might only be valuation or homebuyers which wouldn't be long enough for the Building survey to be completed so we are stuck. I called the survey company this morning and they said our surveyor is on annual leave next week hence 1st Sept. I think we would have saved ourselves 2 weeks if we hadn't got it through the bank.
