Platform 10% Mortgage

Has anyone recently applied for a mortgage through Platform. We applied on Tuesday got the AIP and a hard search was completed. However we are still nervously waiting for a decision. Especially after we were declined a AIP from Nationwide. Our mortgage advisor says we have a straightforward application but the experience with Nationwide has knocker my confidence. I was wondering if anyone had any similar experiences.

  • Ive done countless applications through Platform in my career and have only ever had them not take a case to offer once (i made a mistake on criteria so not their fault).  They are thorough but dont seem to be looking for ways to decline a case.
If youve passed their AIP (and your broker hasnt made a mistake on criteria of course :-))  then you will 99.9% be fine.

Dont take Nationwide as a marker, their credit requirements have gone through the roof with their 90% products
  • You have no Idea how relieved this has made me. Have you put an application through recently and no how long it takes? It is such an antagonising wait.

I have an application with them. One thing I have learnt is the stated service level means nothing. Things just happen randomly and just need to keep asking broker for any updates.

When did you apply? And what was the time scale of getting your offer. We have only been waiting since Tuesday but it is awful waiting.

I'm not near an offer yet. Took a couple of weeks to hear anything back, and get a valuation booked so I'm still waiting for that to happen - after that who knows.
  • Looks like it is a long haul then eek. I've noticed they have took a lot of the offers off as well. So hopefully that means they are sifting through the applications they have.

Currently have an application in with them. Got a valuation and survey booked for Tuesday! Been about 2 weeks so far

I've got an application at the moment through them - 85% LTV. I applied on the 8th of July. Didn't hear anything until the 20th of July where I've been informed that the valuation has been instructed. Haven't had any updates since. So nothing is happening quickly but fingers crossed no issues so far. I've been told there's a backlog which is why it's being so slow.
  • Thank you. Its just awful waiting!

Thanks for this also - very reassuring! Hoping all goes okay with the valuation then I can relax a bit!
