Not sure what you have achieved Fusionx212, it sounds good though, well done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the achievement was challenging these companies that took advantage and acted irresponsibly towards me. I paid all my loans back on time but always off the back of my other bills.

Hi I have just had the following reply :-

"Your case is now waiting to be allocated to an ombudsman.
For our records I need you to explain why you feel we can look at this complaint.
As I have explained that the selling of the loan from Cheque Centres began in 2009 and you have said that this was unaffordable. We look complaints from the date the event took place which would be in 2009.
However if you can provide a reasonable explanation for why you were unaware of the problem between 2009 and 2012 the ombudsman may decide we can look at your complaint.
Please do note that at this stage all the ombudsman will look at is if we can look at this complaint and will not look at cheque centres actions".

Would anybody know if having stress, depression and anxiety which manifested itself in a gambling addiction would be a reasonable explanation for not knowing that I would have been able to make a complaint back then ? It was only by reading this thread in Nov15 that I realised I could potentially make a complaint.

Yes, you can claim for that too ask them to consider the stress you have had to deal with and that the Pay days have harmed you credit file.

Well it's been 9 days since I sent my complaint email to Wonga and this evening I have had a reply asking for more information to confirm my identity... Most of which was provided in my original email!

Is the 8 week deadline for their response from today now or still from the original complaint date?

No sooner had I posted my message here, Wonga emailed me again saying thanks for the confirmation of details and the complaint has been referred to their 'specialist team' and giving the 8 week timescale.

    Sit back and wait... ;)

  • Has anybody else been asked for an additional 2 weeks from Wonga? I put in my complaint in the last week of January and seen people being given offers with the additional 4 weeks, but not the 2 weeks. Is it just me?

most i have read requested 4 weeks. doesnt mean any different to be fair.. an offer is different. i have taken the time to find out exactly what i have paid and what i expect back.

this will benefit you if you have to approach the fos it saves them alot of time and effort.
  • At what point did people chase up with the FO? They have had my complaint 3 weeks now and only had an acknowledgement
