Hi Debtfree ,Approx 5 weeks I have read, QQ could take longer coz they are R Soles.
  • Hi all. I've been reading this thread and Debt Camel with interest. I too, found myself in the grasp of PDL companies for a ridiculous amount of time. Originally in 2010-2012 then kind of got myself out of it only to get stuck again in 2014-2015. What a mistake. Anyway, for most of them I tried to repay on time with a few lapsing and coming to a repayment schedule with them. What a nightmare. I do believe there was irresponsible lending on their parts for the majority of the time - clearly I had outstanding debts (small, but still) and a not great credit history. I was young too and didn't really know how to manage my money. I had multiple PDL from various providers at the same time too.

I guess in a way though I feel like I'm not entitled to claim compensation because if you look at my bank statements from those periods I'm clearly not managing my money well at all. I had a bit of a spending problem (not willing to say addiction), as well as having to support my ill mum but otherwise I only really had outgoings of rent (to my dad), food, travel to work, phone bill.

I actually don't really know what I'm trying to say. I suppose just that if I had tried harder I could have controlled my situation better but instead I kind of just... did nothing. I have contacted the lenders to ask for my statements so I can get idea about the monetary values but I feel like for me, personally, I'm not sure I have any right to claim.

Please note I am NOT saying the same for anyone else and please do not take my post the wrong way! I guess I'm just venting my frustrations at myself here. I just feel like I wasted so much.

Forms came from the Ombudsman for Sunny, sending them back today. Also called PDUK/Express, turns out that at 7 weeks and 4 days into the complaints they haven't even been referred properly!! Told them I am going to Ombudsman the minute they send the email to say I can (or Thursday when the 8 weeks are up whichever is sooner) not letting go with this one- 3k between them and a loan limit on one of them over half of my pay!!!

  • I changed my mind. I emailed them and asked for statements of accounts (three replied already) and basically for all of 2014/15 I was taking out loans back to back with different companies at escalating values. I'm putting in complaints because they should have know I was in financial distress and repayment plans were put in place in order for me to get rid of them! Seeing it in black and white gave me rage. Argh!!

good news.. ombudsman came back to me and agreed with my assesment of my claim with peachy, I was straight with her and said i'd just cleared all my pdl's for good and she was really pleased I had made those steps and said she can see peachy clearly breached the terms of their statements by saying the consider all circumstances of individuals but if they had done so then they would of seen my credit report with alot of missed payments and defaults.
Whilst I am a shamed of my self getting in this situation I had over 23 loans with wonga as well as late payments and defaults they shouldnt of lent and I shouldn't of borrowed but needs must as I have a family etc.

She was actually really fair I felt.

I stated I have a complaint against wonga open and I am challenging them for a refund on interest. she said straight away if you put your complaint then please refer to my self as I am aware of financial issues and situations.
