Getting annoyed by Uncle Buck. The FOS adjudicator gave their opinion in my favour 18 days ago, and UB are still to give a response either way. They initially said they wanted an ombudsmen's opinion, however asked for more info last week which was provided immediately. Not heard anything from them since. I highly doubt they can continue to argue it, but they seem to be seriously dragging their feet. Its not even going to be a huge pay-out. £300 tops.

I'm still not sure what to do about the 'peachy threat' to report me to the police for application fraud. I doubt I was completely honest about my financial position, but I also don't think their checks did enough either. Surely they wouldn't actually report me?!

The police are notoriously uninterested in those sort of things. They would just tell Peachy to sue you for loss through the courts if they felt they had a case.

    scare tactics...

I am absolutely shocked by the FOS today. I got an email saying that after additional information from Uncle Buck she has changed her opinion. Apparently the accounts showing I was in a DMP had been supressed on my credit report given to Uncle Buck (I'm not sure how this happens) and therefore they had no way of seeing that I was in any financial difficulty. On this basis she is unlikely to unhold my complaint.

I have responded explaining my genuine shock and asked if the 4 active credit accounts in default would not have been an indicator of financial difficulty? Or the c.50 payday loans that had been issued in the previous 12 months.

I am taking this all the way.

Absolutely fuming. It is precisely the same complaint as with WDA which was upheld by the FOS. There appears to be a serious lack of consistency going on here.

Wonga were quite quick for me, and fairly helpful. They upheld my complaint within the 8 weeks. I think I got in before the wave of complaints really started flowing though, I reckon they'll be snowed under now.
  • 8 weeks with conga is up this Saturday, sent them a chaser email yesterday and receive this today.

"Unfortunately we have been unable to resolve your complaint within eight weeks of receiving it due to a higher than expected volume of customer queries.

We apologise for this delay, which is necessary to allow your complaint to be fully investigated. We thank you for your patience while we continue with our investigation and hope to respond within the next 4 weeks.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can refer your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service."

Can i go to FOS as of Saturday or wait the extra 4 weeks?
  • You can go straight away as soon as the 8 weeks is up.

I'm in week 9 at the moment and am giving them the 4 weeks they asked for as they have been good with communication and letting me know along the way. After that I will be straight to the FOS.
