I actually got my QQ final response after 7 weeks which I thought was unusual.

In full and final settlement of your complaint, we would like to offer a further payment of £750.00 for your time spent on this complaint and any distress and inconvenience caused

That was actually on top of nothing as they feel that they did everything correctly. Now £750 is a very generous offer from a business that acted in my best interests and didn't do anything wrong! Ridiculous, as its clearly an offer to make me not go to the FOS. Baring in mind I paid over £15k in interest alone to QQ I've sent it straight to the FOS and didn't actually respond to their email. Fortunately I am no longer in a position to be desperate for money, so happy to see this play out. I actually requested a refund of interest from loan 30 when the amount borrowed doubled from £750 to £1350 , so didn't even ask for it all. Total request was around £12,300

Sounds like some one else has not had an offer of £750, They do not know what they are doing to customers. I believe in the long run QQ will have to start paying out without fos involvement as it must be costing a fortune in FOS fees. Like I said we can be patient and wait as we do not need the money urgently. See what happens.
  • Should i have an some form of acknowledgement from FOS, sent in my complaint last saturday and i haven't heard anything.... worried its not gone through properly.

Allegedly, some payday companies (or I'm sure they would claim rogue employees) have taken to posting fake accounts on advice sites/forums/blogs saying that x/y/x company is taking them to court/reporting for 'fraud', or threatening such.

Now, I don't in the slightest way think you are before you misunderstand me, but I just thought I should mention that it seems certain rogue companies/employees are resorting to such scare tactics.

Take some accounts that may crop up with much salt.....

I think you should be able to tell from all of my previous posts that I am not a mole. I hate everything to do with the PDL industry and I hope they get everything they have coming to them.

Refusal number 2- Lending Stream. I've rattled them though as they're now offering to remove the late payment marks as well as close the loan. They were very vague and I think I've got them on one point- they declined me as I 'didn't meet their criteria' not because of any financial difficulty- so I emailed back stating that when I worked in the finance industry a decline was usually down to something on the credit file. My employment details hadn't changed and I had been on the electoral role a long time so it wasn't that. They interestingly enough didn't indicate this was their final response like MyJar so I've asked them to confirm as I refuse the offer and I'm going to the Ombudsman. Email caught me at a bad time so I was very cross, I sensibly waited until I calmed down before I replied!

  • Without going into too many details, as it's a long and mostly boring story. I'm currently complaining to 8 PDL companies for providing my Father with loans he was using to pay off other PDLs. I've only recently discovered the spiral of debt he's found himself in. I've written to all 8 and had 3 responses so far, Mr Lender agreed to wipe the current debt as a gesture of goodwill towards my Father's recovery, as this was the first I gladly accepted this offer. The second was from Different Money, who have rejected my complaint and I have now written to the FOS on this matter. The third was from My Jar who insist that while they do not believe they acted in the wrong (as did Mr Lender) they will waive all fees and interest, leaving only £50 to pay them.

My questions are is it silly of me to accept MyJar's offer? Or do I take their gesture of goodwill as a sign to pursue it with the Ombudsman? On a side note, how much additional information should I be providing the Ombudsman with? I've given them all the loan amounts, the amount of monthly payments coming out of my Father's account compared to how much money is coming in etc. Do I need to give them full bank statements? What works best?

I'm sorry this is all a bit vague, I'm doing all this on the hoof and with my Father's condition it's very difficult to piece together a full picture of everything.

    Many thanks in advance.

Any supporting information you can provide the FO will help determine affordability and make it harder for the pdl companies to argue

After an initial 'no' Lending Stream have now e-mailed saying they will refund the interest on the last 2 loans only of £133.75. Doesn't give any breakdown and doesn't appear to have the 8% interest added. No mention of final response so the ball is being firmly hit back to them. I'll keep you posted.
