I'm just working through my final response letters and my credit report to check I have everything together before sending over to the Ombudsman.
Just working out how much money I paid back to Wonga... There's a lot of default and transfer charges (£20 default and £5.50 transfer each time, adding up to a small fortune in my case). Has anyone tried or had any luck reclaiming any of these charges?0 -

When you submit your complaint to the ombudsman, write in the section entitled :
"what do you want the creditor to do to put matters right ?"
"I would like a full refund of all interest and charges, applied to the account, as well as simple interest @ 8% per anum".

Sorry, I've got another question...
My credit report shows a default with Littlewoods (Lowell Portfolio) which was taken out just before the start of my payday loan issues in June 2010. The payday loans started at the beginning of 2011. My Littlewoods account defaulted mid 2012 after months of not being able to make payments and after I had tried to keep up with repayments but failed after my situation got worse and I was taking out more and more payday loans to try and stay afloat. From memory, Littlewoods added a number of late payment charges to my account (and I probably incurred a number of returned DD charges from my bank) which didn't help matters.
Reckon it's worth trying to pursue it? And if so, should I contact them to get a Statement of Account in the same way as I did for the payday loans? Ideally I'd like to just get the default wiped as it'll be the last "bad mark' to leave my credit report due to the amount of time it took for them to report it as a default.0 -
Its worth a try SophieLoui23, I have read of successful complaints against Littlewoods and others.:cool:0

Two things you need to do sophielou.
(1) written complaint to Littlewoods about the charges, again, state you feel they were unfairly added, and you'd like them refunded, complete with interest @ 8% per annum, as a court would award.
(2) Write to Lowell stating account is in dispute and to back, off basically whilst it's resolved.
Complaint must go to original creditor as they were the ones who added the charges in the first place, long before Lowell bought your debt.
Any refund would go to reduce the balance owed, I doubt the default will be removed, but again, don't ask, don't get.

Hi all.
I haven't been on much the last few days as not much to report.
I decided to send an email to my QQ adjudicator today to see when an ombudsman will be allocated. He said it should hopefully be allocated by the end of this week but we will see...
The same adjudicator who looked at my Lending Stream complaint has picked up the Payday Express one so might get somewhere soon with a few of them.0 -

Thanks SourcratesI paid the debt off a year after the default date and the default is marked on my credit report as Lowell, so I'm guessing that's why it took so long for a default to be registered. Still, worth a try with Littlewoods as you've said.
