After reading this post I encouraged a friend who I know had PDL's with Wonga and QuickQuid almost continually over a 3 year period to write to them and ask for a refund of the charges etc. She has done this but at the 8 week point has not had any response apart from the Wonga email that they are still looking into it, and nothing from QuickQuid apart from their automatic response.

What should her next step be? Should she contact the companies again and say the 8 weeks are up, what is their response or should she just go ahead and open a complaint with the FOS? I believe she would be entitled to the refund but have no experience in pursuing this type of claim so any advice would be really helpful for her.

    Thank you

Hi sambuca9, I would escalate the complaint to the FOS and E-Mail the payday lenders to inform them what you are doing. The lender may respond with an offer as a referral to the FOS will cost the lender £550.

I just dont understand why the lenders are using delaying tactics, after all if your complaint is sucessful you gain more 8% interest ???????????????

I have only heard of one claim being paid out by PDUK, QQ not much difference. Wonga,Lending Stream, Uncle Buck paying out claims. We will have to wait and see.
  • Raised my complaints with the FOS against QQ & P2P, Satsuma, Uncle Buck and Wageday advance.

After initially rejecting my complaints QQ & P2P both offered a £150 (£300 total) gesture of goodwill without accepting any wrongdoing. I have rejected these and referred the issue back the FOS. The FOS are now trying to resolve this sort of complaint within 2 weeks. So fingers crossed for a quick resolution. The main complaint with QQ and P2P is that they are related companies and both issued loans to me at the same time, plus I was issued 23 loans through QQ within 19 months. A tad more than the 'occasional use' their own guidance suggests.

Nothing back on the others yet.
