I saw a post that some companies respond more rapidly upon mentioning that the Financial Ombudsman will levy a charge to the company for £550 if the case is escalated to them.

Is it true? Either than the Financial Ombudsman do charge £550 in each case or that the companies seem to respond better?

Not sure but I mentioned the FOS in my complaint e-mails.

I guess we will see. I included the comments regarding the fee to Pounds to Pocket/QuickQuid.

It seems Wonga is one of the few companies that seem to actually repay interest with less of an effort.

Its a waiting game, same as the PPI complaints. Some winners and some losers, just do not give in.

yes i have, emails sent and acknowledgements received saying i should hear back within 8 weeks. once i'd added it all up its nearly £2k in interest and fees :eek: a lot more than i had realised. so annoyed with myself for getting into this state, i was young and naive so this refund will hopefully go a long way to getting myself back on track a lot sooner than i first thought. fingers crossed anyways!!

Just had a reply from Lending Stream asking for my date of birth.

To reduce the delays between emails, I've found payday loan companies request the following things. Include them at the beginning of your initial email to a company so they can begin investigating right away:

- Full Name
- Date of birth
- Email address used when applying for the loan
- Full address
- Post code
