I also managed to get double rewards for the initial switch- into a new account, and then almost a year later was able to switch into the existing account which had double rewards too but I'm thinking that second one has ended /is imminent.(and I had that nice CC which gave me extra £1 for 2 years)

It would be good if Barclays launched the deal again as I have several accounts which aren't doing much at all! and I would happily switch......
Ermm  Don't think Barclays will be listening to us!!
Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

we have a joint mortgage with barclays - would both of us be eligible for £5 a month each if we had blue rewards?

Afraid not. We have a joint account and a joint mortgage, but only receive one payment.
I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.

I notice that the glitch that has paid out £3.50 instead of £7 did not stop them taking the £4 fee!!!!!!
    :(
  • I have accounts with Barclays for ever, but never signed for Blue Rewards.  They charge you for this, right?  I currently have free banking.
It's a net gain after the fee, but yes strictly speaking it is an account fee of £3 followed by a payment of £7 for meeting the monthly criteria.
How come on my premier I'm being charged £4? Weird....

The fee increased to £4 so a net gain of £3 for two direct debits, (more if you've bagged a double/triple rewards offer)
Oh ignore last post lol. Thanks for highlighting the changes. :)
  • Slightly annoyed - I upgraded to blue a few days before month end. Didn't realise they'd take my fee and not give me time to pay two DD's though. As in if I joined on 28th then I should run from 28th - 27th surely? It looks like its best to upgrade to blue at start of month I guess.

Not really as you pay the fee in month one but blue rewards are paid in arrears. No matter when you start your first month incurs a fee with no rewards.

Ignore the above, that's partially correct.
    The terms are clear.
    The monthly fee
We charge a fee of £4 each month. Your monthly fee will be taken from your nominated account on the second working day of each month. The first monthly fee will be taken in the month after you join Barclays Blue Rewards. It will show in your statement as ’Blue Rewards fee’.

You should only be charged a fee from next month, you earn the rewards next month and these become payable the month after. There is always a month when you pay a fee and earn no rewards however this should be the first complete month after starting blue rewards.

    Edit.
Doh, this is correct then as we are already in "next month"  and so the fee is payable and you will get paid rewards next month.

    (Forgive the brain fade moment)

Thanks for this but it still points to the same; if I added it on the 3rd then I'd miss the fee until 2nd of next month so I messed up by adding Blue on 28th or whenever I did it. 😢🤔

Not really, you opened on the 28th. No fee payable, no rewards due.
Next month, fee payable, rewards earned but not payable.
Month after fee payable, rewards payable from previous month.
