There was an IT issue that meant some customers weren’t paid correctly for the direct debit part of the blue reward scheme this month. They are looking into it and will correct the affected customers blue rewards ASAP2

Thanks to all replies. Glad to hear that the double reward period is indefinite. I just checked my Barclay AC, had 3DDs taken from my Barclays account early August on different days . So, I do not miss the DD condition. I think I will try to contact Barclays regarding missing this double rewards.

I don't know if that's a typo or not but the double rewards last for twelve months only rather than indefinitely.adindas said:Thanks to all replies. It seems you are right it is only for one year, I previously thought it was two years. But What I got confused here is that I started my double reward back in October 2018 and my reward still was still doubled up to last month August 2020 (so more than one year). I do not remember doing something such as renewing the reward or the like.Does anyone get their rewards doubled beyond one year (or even two years)? Is there a way of renewing the double reward ???If not than the best option is probably to opt out reward altogether as if the reward is not doubled it is a loss of £0.50 a month.

I just checked my Barclays current a/c expecting to have received a £7.00 reward for the two DDs paid out in August. No joy. Am hoping that this is a technical glitch, as per the previous posts. I have raised a query with Barclays.0

Is that another typo or have you really been getting Double Blue Rewards for 12 years?adindas said:kaMelo said:

Standard Blue Rewards are ongoing, but Double Blue Rewards (as far I am aware) have only been available in connection with switching offers. If you have had them for two years running, you must have switched another account after the first year, when the offer was available again. Either that or Barclays have paid you double by mistake for the last year.
There's no way you can renew the Double Blue Rewards without there being a switching offer in place. Otherwise, everybody would just renew them and it wouldn't be a special offer, would it?
Cancelling the Blue Rewards would be a very bad idea because even with the standard Blue Rewards you get £7 per month if you pay out two Direct Debits, so you would lose £3 per month. As already explained above, and in other threads, there's been a technical problem this month and some people have only got £3.50, but if you paid out two Direct Debits you just need to be patient and this will be corrected in due course.1 -

It was typo indeed. It should say 2018 (not 2008). Also good to know that £7 is not because the rewards is doubled but it is because of the two active DD in the account.
I fully agree with you that cancelling the Blue Rewards would be a very bad idea as I will still get £3 net as I already have three DDS on this account. Hopefully this technical issue could be sorted soon.
Another question here is that:
If you do another switching after one year have elapsed could it renew the double reward??
I could easily do that as I have reasonable number of donors accounts with few DD in int ready to use.

Yes, you can have the Double Blue Rewards again for a second year if you switch another account to Barclays. I am currently on my second set of Double Blue Rewards because I switched in approx October 2018 and got them for one year, then I switched again in November 2019 and I'm getting them for a second year. I only went back to standard Blue Rewards for one month in between the old offer finishing and the new one starting.adindas said:EarthBoy said:

Of course, this is presuming that Barclays run the Double Blue Rewards promotion again, and also presuming that the conditions of the offer will be the same as they've been before. There's no guarantee with these things.1 -

Spendid Clarification with personal experience. Will have a closer look for another double reward.
