I must be the only person who likes Barclays. Getting triple blue rewards for two years in a row did help... but generally speaking I am fine with them. Great app and online banking, good mortgage rates, decent customer service (on par with others). Their savings accounts are terrible but it's not good to keep all eggs in one basket anyway... :)
Did you have 3 current accounts to get triple blue rewards?
I presume Magritte has a Premier account. Barclays had a promotion last year, and the year before, to get double Blue Rewards for switching to them, or triple Blue Rewards if you had a Premier account. There were no restrictions on getting the promotion more than once, so if you switched an account two years running you could get the double or triple Blue Rewards for two years. I'm currently on my second year of double Blue Rewards and when that finishes I'm hoping they'll run the same promotion again, so I can switch another account and get a third year of double Blue Rewards.

No, you just need to have e.g. a Barclays mortgage and a Premier account

I must have missed out there as I have had double rewards for 2 years with their switching deals. Please tell me that you got it wrong or I shall sulk!! sadly the double blue rewards have just ended........ and no switching deals for any bank !

Read my earlier post. It was double Blue Rewards for ordinary account holders, but triple Blue Rewards for Premier account holders.

I have accounts with Barclays for ever, but never signed for Blue Rewards.  They charge you for this, right?  I currently have free banking.

The charge is less than you get paid.

It's a net gain after the fee, but yes strictly speaking it is an account fee of £3 followed by a payment of £7 for meeting the monthly criteria.
  • I've had it for 6 months and I end up £8 a month up so I'm happy. It's not going to make me a millionaire but it's zero effort for a few extra quid.

The fee increased to £4 so a net gain of £3 for two direct debits, (more if you've bagged a double/triple rewards offer)
