Why do you expect that? Papers requires both sides to agree.

If you have told the court that you object to a hearing "on papers" that's about all you can do.  You could try a follow up e-mail asking to confirm the date for a F2F or a telephone/video hearing.

just have to wait to see what they are going to do?
is a telephone hearing any good to me, or stick to F2F?
may follow up as suggested if goes on too long.

You won't get a choice; if the court is not offering F2F, it'll have to be telephone/video.

is there anything I can do in the mean time?
prepare court bundle? what do I need?
my witness statement, photos of signs that I found afterwards? costs?
as well as defence already submitted, but needs to be in there.
any other documents?

Read recently completed court cases to see what is required , this being a self help forum , do the research !!
