alexthomas21 said:Hello all,
Wanted to give you an update on my application, no formal offer yet from Nationwide however my broker has said that I am in the queue for an offer letter to be instructed, which nationwide have said, should be received by the 26th November... and have passed all assessments.
90% LTV mortgage - single application
12/10/2020 - Application submitted
14/10/2020 - Valuation booked for 16th October 2020
21/10/2020 - Hard search done on file.
28/10/2020 - Request made for LISA statement
19/11/2020 - Broker updated to say all accepted, all checks completed by underwriter, awaiting mortgage offer letter (TBC)
Been told all has been accepted, Valuation report is being reviewed and will be completed by end of business tomorrow. If all fine, will have mortgage offer tomorrow (TBC). As much as its frustrating, Nationwide have been helpful every time I ask for an update and my mortgage broker has been extremely helpful in the matter as well.
Keep the faith guys, hopefully i will have good news to share tomorrow and I hope all of you get that lovely text/email as well.

This sounds really promising alexthomas21!
I second the phoning up and speaking to someone. They're been really helpful and very friendly whenever I've phoned them too. I find the live chat a bit buggy, it has kicked me out a few times and then I've lost the conversation history and am reconnected to a new person which is annoying.
I've just rang to follow up a query with them and they've said I should have a decision by Friday 4 December at the latest, as my application has only 1 case owner and they have a 7 day turnaround time. To be honest none of that means anything to me but if I know by this time next week, I'll be thrilled. I have booked in for a full building survey on Monday 7 December so I'm hoping it uncovers nothing terminal ...! The thought of having to renegotiate and then go back to Nationwide is not a happy one.

NeverEnoughCats said:I had my valuation today, so I'm hoping that it won't be too much longer. My partner and I are trying to buy my ex-husband out, so it's a remortgage, I own 65% outright, so the mortgage is for 35% of the value of the house. Here's my timeline:
23/10 DIP given.
05/11 Application put in by our broker, and text received from Nationwide.
06/11 Text received to say valuation booked for 09/11.
09/11 Had to advise surveyor that daughter had been instructed to self-isolate due to having been in contact with a teacher with Covid. Survey postponed.
14/11 Hard searches done on both myself and my partner.
25/11 (Today) Survey done. Surveyor said that due to LTV, it was really just a formality.
Fingers crossed that we'll hear soon! I did notice that my partner and I are now listed as having a financial connection in terms of a joint account or loan on ClearSearch, and as the only joint thing we have so far is the mortgage application, I'm hoping that that's a sign that it's a done deal! Might be wishful thinking though!
Good luck to everyone else who is waiting!2 -

Congratulations! 🥳🎉It wasn’t such good news for us- the valuation came back as ‘non suitable security’ due to possible structural issues. We are currently living in the property we hope to purchase. They have said that ‘The property could be reconsidered if a structural report is produced from an appropriately qualified Structural Engineer/Chartered Building Surveyor.’ So have spent the afternoon calling structural engineer’s have been quoted up to £1400 and 3 weeks wait! But managed to find someone to come out on Monday for £525.who can produce the report within a week!
we think the issue is cracks from where we had new windows fitted so praying it’s nothing to worry about and won’t effect the value of the property. Looks like we’ll be waiting longer but on the upside it wasn’t an immediate rejection. Will keep my fingers crossed for those waiting to hear soon! I really hope this doesn’t lead to weeks and weeks of waiting 😩🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻0 -
