Hi all
I’ve been folllowing all your experiences so far and has helped me become less stressed wirh the whole process. Our timescale is
11/8 full alpplication went in
3/9 application with underwriters
9/9 - more info needed re standing orders on account.14/9 still with underwrites MA hopes it would be today but not heard anything yet so she will call them tomorrow. We did try to go with L&C but they didn’t reply to us either after giving an AIP so we went elsewhere.0 -
We initially remortgaged using L&C when we took out our current fix back in October 2018. Keeping in mind that we didn't have a pandemic or backlogs then. It was a smooth process at the time. This time obviously we have gone straight to platform as we are taking our fix to the next house.0

It's so stressful, I am glad I have found this forum as I have been seeing other mortgage lenders offer within a few days of the application being submitted.jamjo3108 said:Hi all

Did your advisor update you with regards to the position of the application or did you do direct to Platform? I am so tempted to contact Platform directly but have read online that only the broker should contact them.0 -
I’m so glad I found this thread as I’ve been stressing out over the past 11 weeks! My broker submitted my morgage application to Platform on 8/07 and I am still yet to receive my offer! They have been so slow, and I must admit my broker hasn’t been the best with passing on info and updating me - I’ve had to chase several times to get any response! Fingers crossed I’ll hear something this week!0

@nakiwala123 no account number but I just checked mortgage illustration document again and they do provide a number, but as you mentioned and as I previously thought communication probably needs to go via the broker. I guess I'm playing the waiting game then, so nervous as I'm a single applicant and FTB.nakiwala123 said:
We are porting and borrowing extra so existing customers this we don't really have a broker to go through. The number we called is the one on the mortgage in principle paperwork that we received from them. I think if you aren't a customer already then they will only communicate through your broker. Do you have an account number yet?qwerty567111 said:nakiwala123 said:
Update from us.nakiwala123 said:
Platform received our application on 6th or 7th August. They called me yesterday morning and confirmed that our application had been vetted and that it has now been passed on to the Underwriters. It would take up to 5 days for a response from the Underwriters. Every week we called for an update and they mentioned it was not vetted yet, I assumed vetting was the same as underwriting so you can imagine my disappointment when they mentioned that there was another step. We are so close now though.
I called platform on whim earlier today and they confirmed that we have been accepted for a mortgage offer. It will take up to another 2 weeks for us to receive the declaration form and return it to them.Hi @nakiwala123 how did you get in touch, was it using the number listed on their contact page or something else? My Broker submitted my application on 03/09 and I know it's too early to have gotten a response, but I thought I'd ask so I know how best to contact them should I need to.

Have they asked you for further information and have you been advised if a valuation has taken place?elmal1997 said:I’m so glad I found this thread as I’ve been stressing out over the past 11 weeks! I have asked my broker for a proper update as all they keep saying is that they aren’t getting a response from Platform but I doubt my broker is actively chasing or asking the right questions.

I can see why they probably aren't chasing Platform. I called them once a week to get an update on our application and the average time in the queue to get through to the mortgage department was about 40mins in the phone. A couple of weeks it took almost an hour.rdunn_ said:

In fact yesterday when I called I was shocked for my call to be answered in about 22 minutes.0

Been following this post for updates for the last couple of weeks and thought I’d share the update we had from out MA yesterday:
16/8 - Application and all supporting documentation submitted (we should be a fairly simple application).
26/8 - Valuation complete (assuming desktop) and application awaiting underwriter assignment.
14/9 - MA chases and has been informed Platform are still working on applications from the 11/8 so will be another two weeks realistically...
Little bit bored of waiting at the moment but thankfully everything in our chain is moving slowly so we aren’t holding anything up at the moment.0 -
It's reassuring following everyones updates. I would love to know at what stage the application is. I don't even know if it has been to the underwriting team or has had a valuation. Hopefully my Broker responds to my email asking for an update.Geek_ said:Been following this post for updates for the last couple of weeks and thought I’d share the update we had from out MA yesterday:
