  • Hi everyone
Thought I would ring Platform this morning as they told me on Monday 3 working days to look at our valuation, then 2 working days after that for final offer checks. They checked and satisfied the valuation yesterday, but been told that our case is going to final offer checks on Wednesday, and all being well offer 2 working days from then. So when i was told on Monday that next week would be worst case scenario, its more likely going to be the best  case scenario now. :( I asked if it could happen any quicker and they 'spoke to a manager' but no it couldn't be escalated anymore. I am so fed up with this now, constantly being told next week and it never happening. We were supposed to be moving in on the 29th. I doubt this will happen now :(

I sent a letter of complaint and it doesn't so much. Just had a call from the applications team (them phoning me!) to update me on timescales so they must have received my letter. They are currently working to 12 weeks and are processing applications received on 19th October for info. They received ours on the 3rd of Nov and my initial phone call to them was back in September! (MA appointment 20th October)
We actually started another application with Barclays yesterday and by yesterday afternoon they'd sorted an agreement in principle, completed a soft search for initial checks, had done a desktop valuation and instructed an underwriter (hard search now done)
Our MA expects an offer early next week at the latest.
I think this shows they talk utter rubbish as on Monday they told me they were working on applications from 23rd October!
I am so done with platform. Week 9 of porting now with no end in sight. I’ve told them our buyers mortgage offer runs out at the end of this month so we need to complete by then and they said they would let me know if they could ‘expedite’ our application and let us know by Tuesday. Of course they never phoned me back. Chased again today first thing (tip - call at 9am and you get through to someone straight away) but still no call back. Our application is 11th November, we’ll be lucky to complete before the stamp duty holiday at this rate. All of this is causing me a huge amount of stress and upset. The estate agents in our chain are pressuring us and constantly asking us why it’s taking so long and we don’t have an answer as we don’t know why it’s taking this long. It makes it look like we are holding up the chain on purpose and we are trying to convey to all parties that this is not the case but I feel like they don’t believe us or they think there must be issues with our application, thus casting doubt on whether our application will go through.

I’m on week 15 since they put my application on the system and week 19 from when we started the porting process. The timeline on the website for new customers is so short and seems to be honoured. I’m so f***’d off it’s ridiculous. They don’t help, you can’t speak to anyone, I’ve been told 5 times someone will call me and I’ve laughed at them every time as they guarantee that someone will be in touch and they’re cc’ing two managers instead of the one. You’re not alone but that doesn’t make it any better. I also have the same issues as you which is made worse when platform provide a timeline which they can’t keep too - how can I manage my chain and the expectations when they just keep lying to me. I am probably going to call them up and cry at the person down the end of the phone and see if they’ve even got a heart... doubt it’ll do anything. Why can’t they just move ppl from new applicants team to the existing team and make it fair so everyone is treated the same.

We now have an offer from Barclays which took 3 days from application to offer. We have cancelled our platform application but they have called me twice in the last week. Once because they saw a note on the account to give me a call and the second time, a week after i sent a letter of complaint. The call regarding the complaint said they would look to escalate so it's worth complaining if you haven't already. I was happy to be able to tell them we'll drop our complaint because of our new offer and hope that getting everything out the systems speeds things up for others. Each case seems to be so different regarding what comms you get
  • We've had our offer today!!! :)

Porting customer here. Got a text today to say our offer has been approved & our offer documents are being generated. They said this typically takes 5-10 working days but as our case has been expedited they will try and do it within 48 hours. We previously complained about their ridiculous time scales for existing customers and explained our situation (heavily pregnant and out on the 29th), then they agreed expedite our case which has appeared to really get things moving so it was definitely worth complaining! Good luck.

Has it come through? I’m really pleased it’s moving forward. I don’t understand Platform. We’ve had our application in since first week of October and we don’t have a mortgage offer. We have called and begged multiple times to get them to hurry up. They don’t ask for any more information it’s just that they’re so slow. It’s been 21 weeks since our offer was accepted and we are holding up the whole chain. It’s not fair we’ve all got personal circumstances, now it’s like they’re deciding which are more important vs other people. Another unethical move by platform.

They should fax it, if they do it should be with your solicitors the same day you got your offer. We had our offer last Wednesday (20th) they sent it to the seller solicitors not ours, then they couldn't fax it for whatever reason, so we are still waiting for it to turn up in the post. They sent it out Friday so i am hoping today or tomorrow. We were supposed to complete on the 29th! :( Hope it all goes swimmingly for you :)

Glad you managed to get yours expedited. They also did the same for us which was great and we had our offer through on Friday. I made several complaints over the 4 months all this has taken so I don’t know if this has had an effect. I am chuffed we have our offer but understand that others have not been as lucky, all I can suggest is keep complaining and ask to speak to someone in the applications team (not just the overflow call centre team as you’ll never get a callback) as this is the only time I have made real progress.
