  • I just called them direct, was on hold just over an hour but the person I spoke to eventually was lovely. They just said it looked like they had all the information and they've put it back on the queue to be looked at by the end of the week - so that would be 10 working days for this iteration , taking us up to 38 total, and hopefully it's the last one!

So good to be seeing movement now!
our application was made on 5/8/20.
Assessed yesterday (3/9/20). Query made re my employer address (council so lots of different offices), and valuation instructed. MA advises that if valuation is instructed, we are pretty much home and dry 😀. She will check next week for a date of when it will be done.
Just starting to feel hopeful now!
    Further update from me:-
7/9/20- MA was advised by Platform that valuation & survey would be completed that day, and if all fine, the offer would be issued the next week.
10/9/20- I received survey report, with house valued at purchase price.
11/9/20- MA confirmed Platform had uploaded the valuation figures and again waiting ‘to be assessed’.
14/9/20- MA spoke to Platform who said would be looked at by close of business the next day & had been allocated to an underwriter as a task. If acceptable, should go straight to offer.
16/9/20- MA has escalated case to Platform as still no response. Should be looked at within 48hrs (fed up of hearing this now!). Platform were ‘very apologetic’. MA will update again on Fri 18th.

Getting so frustrated now, walking around with a permanent stress headache and starting to wonder if it is all worth it.🙁
18th- told our case had again been escalated, would be dealt with in 3 working days, then go to final checks before an offer being made.
22nd (today) am- case still waiting for assessment then final checks.
22nd (today) pm- received email with an offer!!

So 33 working days from application to offer.
To the amusement of all my colleagues, I couldn’t resist a happy dance around the office! 😀😀😀😀

Right that's it! I'm doing a you tomorrow. What do you say to get things escalated? Our buyers are very desperate to move in with a hastily long school commute of over 200 miles a week.

    So many questions sorry.

Do you know whether your solicitor has received the offer? How long do you reckon it will take for you to receive the offer in the post?

Our clock started on 7th August so hopefully we aren't too far behind you. I am resisting having to call them tomorrow and waiting till Friday if we have not heard anything. Maybe if I last till Thursday after lunch then I will probably call. If I can resist calling tomorrow it will a miracle though.

  • I am going to have to call the bank first thing tomorrow morning. Our buyers are almost  losing a school place for their son if they haven't exchanged in a week as they need to have the address on the application. I will try the escalate phone call tomorrow.

Just spoke to my Mortgage Broker and for those who have submitted their application on the W/C 1st of September, Platform has advised that applications submitted on that date will be reviewed on the W/C 5th October  :| and priority applications will be those who have been submitted on the 17th of August. Is there any truth in this at all? have similar brokers been advised of this?
We submitted on the 17th so I’ll let you know if there’s any truth to that in the next few days, as we’ve had nothing apart from “desktop valuation complete”. MA has been chasing but keeps getting told it’s waiting for the under writer.
  • Well I'm glad I found this thread! Our timeline as follows:
    • 6 and 7 August - completed application with broker who submitted late on 7th.
    • 10 August - 1st working day (Monday)
    • 8 September - called broker to ask how long they were expecting applications to take. They had been told it was taking 23 working days for them to look at applications.
    • 10 September - couple of queries re bank statements and asked for proof of deposit (in another bank account hence the Q) (23rd working day, so bob on what the broker had been told)
By my calculations, today is working day 32, so fingers crossed we hear any day now based on your timeline @Megandlg
(Congratulations by the way!). Luckily this isn't holding up any part of our sale, since we are selling a leasehold and our buyer is also in the same position re mortgage etc. I just want to get cracking (and have a move date well before Christmas!!!)

    Lloyds - £9395.51 £9202.55 £9019.41
  • I'm a FTB and my application was submitted through my MA on 1 September, still waiting on the valuation to be booked in. Seems that Platform have finally got round to upping the average offer time from 26 working days to 30 working days on the Intermediaries site.
