I was just thinking... this verges on some sort of SCAM. They set up a card. Charge millions of ££s for its use in retailers fees. Hand out points that cannot be redeemed. Then close it. Surely a scam if ever I saw one.
    Not a “scam” at all
Not a scam but certainly really poor customer service to withdraw the earned benefit at short notice at a time when they know that hardly any of their customers will have a chance to use it.
What do the T’s and C’s say about withdrawing offers and point redemptions?
I don't know and don't really care what the T& C's say, it's just bad customer service and I won't be having any further dealings with Tui so you can just toddle off and do your trolling elsewhere, you're not very good at it anyway 🙂

How is it trolling to point out you will have agreed to terms and conditions surrounding the end of the commercial partnership between the credit card company and the travel company?

People posting stuff you dont like does not equal "trolling".

But people constantly and deliberately missrepresenting what has been said does. All I have said is that it is bad customer service and will lose Tui some of their regular customers due to the nature of the withdrawal of the benefit at such short notice. I do of course realise that they will be covered by the small print.

How do you know it isn’t NewDay who chose to end the partnership? Will you be taking another NewDay Card anytime soon were that the case?

Partnerships change and end between providers umpteen times a year - there’s no need to stomp your “I’ll never use XXXXX again” high heels over it.

Tui have used the branded card as an incentive to get customers to book services with them. As I mentioned in an earlier post on this thread neither Tui nor Newday have shown any interest in looking after customers so why would I choose to use either again?

Not really. Plenty of people book with TUI using some other form of reward (or even cashback) card from my experiences as points and incentives with other lenders far outweigh what TUI/NewDay were offering in terms of money back/savings.
  • Update - new email just received!!
    ========

    Card Balance: £0.00
Your TUI Credit Card account will be closed soonDear Funkycredit,

We are writing to remind you that, as per our previous communication, your TUI Credit Cardwill be closed on 14 September 2020 .

What does this mean for my account? You can continue to use your card as usual until 14 September 2020.Thereafter your account will be closed and your card will be blocked from further use, and you should continue make your monthly payments until the balance is paid in full. This will not affect your credit rating as long as you continue to keep your account in good order.
What happens to my points? If you have 2500 or more Loyalty Points, these will be redeemed as usual if you make an eligible TUI/First Choice purchase until 14 September 2020; After this date you will not be able to redeem these points.
What happens if my holiday purchase is due to be refunded to my card?

The standard TUI refund policies will still apply should your holiday be cancelled, and a refund made back to your TUI card. If there is a credit balance as a result of any refunds it is important that you contact us to provide details of the bank account to which you would like your credit sent to.

Remember, to keep your account in good order, it’s important to pay at least your contractual minimum payment on time each month.

We understand this news may be disappointing and sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused.

    Kind regards,
    Francesca Rea
    Director of Customer Service
  • Does anyone know if purchasing a gift card or travel money with the tui card will consume points?

    Travel money certainly wont.
  • Purchasing gift card will not consume points. The purchase of the gift card goes on the Tui statement as SVM Global gift card & so the points are not allocated against it.
