I updated my request this morning as the quotes had expired and the installed had confirmed that his quote will remain current. So I had a an auto-response followed by a request for more information confirming my identity and ownership of the property - that is difficult to provide at the present moment as the deeds are in a safe deposit box and due to the lockdown inaccessible.
Why this information couldn't be requested for on the application form I'd like to know.
Think it's just a delaying tactic to frustrate the applications (and save HMG money!).
They did this with our application recently - suddenly wanted more id and 'the title deeds'.  Ridiculous.  Not least because they admit they have a system to check the Land Registry (which, for most properties, is the definitive source for who owns what) and so they can get the definitive info via that, the Govt's own agency.  Requesting the 'title deeds' is a really weird thing to do as they prove nothing that the LR couldn't tell them better.

Thanks, have to agree it's ridiculous. Really they ought to explain what they need to see and how they are going to confirm such better, instead of the actions being a black art. Going to be interesting 'cause I think the 'owners' address on the deeds will be my parents as when I bought the pair of cottages (I've applied for 2 properties) where rented out, subsequently I've moved into one of the pair but never thought to update the LR.

I've just been reading up on the absolute ridiculousness of this entire scheme and those who run it. Is it surprising? No. Was it expected? Yes. What am I going to do about it? Try and get my insulation done before it's too late! And this is where I need your help please guys.

I have the oddest of things in my house. It's a timber frame build, built in 2003, It has 4 bedrooms. But 2 of the rooms just do not seem to heat up in winter. If one of those rooms heats up, the other is cold. If that other heats up, the first one is cold! The rest of the rooms and house are fine though!

I have underfloor heating on the ground floor, which is fine. It;s just on the first floor and those 2 bedrooms where the issue is.

In order to heat of the cold rooms, I need to set my thermostat to 3 - 4 degrees higher. So, if I want the cold rooms to each 21 degrees, I set the stat in the hallway to 24 degrees. Ouch, that hurts the gas bill.

Can anyone please offer me some advice? As it's a new build (albeit, built by an independent) I doubt it could be the wall insulation. If it is, I'm in trouble! I've check the double glazing and the seals and they all seem to be ok. There are no drafts anywhere to be found. I even shut the vents on the windows, but that made no difference at all.
Totally baffled. Maybe the place is haunted!!! In which case, i don't need insulation but an exorcist........
You need to get the plumber in - one who understands 'wet' UFH to balance the system. do you know if you do have 'balancing' valves on the feed into the UFH?
Your description is indicative that the UFH heating controls are set to allow all the hot heating water through the floor and so there is no or little flow to the upstairs radiators.
    Hi Afourteen thank you.

I'm not sure if I have balancing valves on the UFH, but I do know that when I had the UFH fitted the plumber power flushed all the radiators on the first floor and balance all the radiators.

The radiators upstairs do all heat up which is why I'm so confused about the 2 rooms not warming up properly. Well, when one room heats up the other doesn't. And that room does heat up, the other one doesn't!

Do you guys think as the weather is now warming up, I should wait to get this checked out until the cold months arrive again? Or should I do it now?
So do you have radiators and UFH in the same rooms downstairs, or just UFH?  Does the room the thermostat is in have both?
No. I only have UFH on the ground floor. And radiators only on the 1st and 2nd floors.

The ground floor has a thermostat in each room and hallway.

The first and second floors have 1 thermostat that controls all the radiators.

Hey Guys, I was one of the lucky one's, received my voucher in early December, been in contact with my Installer since then, got an email 2 weeks ago saying they are not taking anymore work due to not getting paid by the scheme.
My voucher expires in 2 weeks, now I have to source another Installer to be in the chance getting my work done.
Has anyone been in this situation?
If so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You can go onto GHG Webchat and request that they extend your current voucher - usually for 90 days from the expiry of your current voucher ( Confirm this with GHG )
and screen shot the Webchat for your own reference

Hopefully this will buy you a bit more time to find an installer and get the work complete.
    Good luck.

Contacted them via Web chat was then advised either extend my voucher for 90 days or cancel my current voucher and get a new voucher for a different Installer.
    Anyways thanks for your advice.

After being fed up with waiting and not knowing what stage in the process I was at I decided to send an email stating my dissatisfaction with the scheme and that I would be writing to my MP to notify him of the situation. A couple of days later I was left a voicemail telling me it might be best if I applied again and to phone the helpline. I did and while speaking to them I sent a document that I had already sent twice but they said they hadn’t received. Within five days they sent me vouchers for the work to go ahead. I don’t know if this was related to me registering my complaint and writing to my MP but my guess is it helped it along. Thankfully I didn’t re-apply and for those in the same boat I would say it’s worth making a bit of a nuisance of yourself to give them a nudge.
Anyway, hopefully the next stage will be a bit more straightforward and I’ll get the work done soon.

    Why only ask me now?!

Hi everyone.  I received a voucher on 3/2/21 for heating controls installation.  Ive phoned the installer a few times since but they say they are not doing any installs yet because they 'havent been given the go ahead by the government'.  Which is a bit strange as my insulation installer has already completed??
How should i play this?  Can i find another installer and transfer the voucher?  Or is it better to just wait?
  • I applied back in mid December and have chased a couple of times a week (some times finding out they need extra info, even though they hadn't contacted me). Still getting not getting far. Should I have got the voucher by now?? Has anyone else received a voucher they applied for in December??

I applied on 21/12/20 and got vouchers for 2 measures on 3/2/21.  One had been rejected, but as with you, i had to phone to find out.
