Hooray!  Applied early in the morning on the 30th of September, received no confirmation email, sent numerous emails over the past month requesting confirmation (including to customer@green-homes-grant.service.gov.uk), and NOW have received confirmation - yes, they definitely have my application!

    I feel like celebrating tonight!

I have done the same, but have not got my confirmation! It would be a huge relief to get it :)

i got 3 bed semi solid wall insulation quote privately (without green grant) for 7k and with trustmark builder for 13k so with 5k grant, i will be paying 1k extra. however i have applied for grant as I feel trustmark builder will do a good quality job.

I can’t see your application being accepted. They know roughly how much each installation costs so would be stupid to approve a quote almost double the base line cost.

I am not sure where you are based but worth trying InstaGroup as I had a very positive experience with them and they do external wall insulation. They came to me for cavity wall and loft insulation and did a thorough survey and their prices were extremely reasonable and much lower than anyone else who just emailed me a price!!

not really. the price is so varying for this job depending on builder. i got quote of 12k as well privately (without trustmark builder).
  • It's rubbish. Seems to be good for people with savings or people on benefits. I thought i'd finally be able to get help to replace my 30 yo single glazed windows. Not a primary though and  the only primary improvement listed was external insulation estimated cost £9000. Totally out of my reach on my minimum wage earnings.

Hi, I'm in the same boat as a number of people, old double glazing that is well past its use by date. Is there any chance we can collectively pressure the government to change the rule on only replacing single glazing?
I can't even get my 30yo rotting single glazed windows done unless I spend £9000 on external insulation as a primary. If I had £9000 i'd be able to replace my windows without any grant. Scheme is a complete joke.

Unfortunately, you have to keep sending them emails in order to receive a confirmation

You can call or email them, looks like they even have a live chat function!  :open_mouth:
Thanks. I used the chat function, gave them my reference and email address and they confirmed it’s on the system. Says I will receive an email to confirm if my application has been approved or not. If approved I will be sent an email that the voucher has been issued which can take around five days. At least I know it’s on the system now.

This grant isn't a grant as far as I can tell! You get a £5K ADVANCE on the energy subsidy (which would otherwise all be spread over 7 years) to reduce the initial cost of installation. Still worth having but not really a "grant" as such. Our Glorious Government are sneaky buggers !
