Can't believe I haven't posted on this since November, i am so rubbish.

Christmas was good, no extra spending so I am very happy.

We got another couple of balance transfer offers so have done some moving around which is good.
Hubby has done loads of overtime the last 8 weeks so we have had extra to chuck at the debt which has been great.
I have joined 2 of the Debt Free Wannabe challenges which i think will help me, especially the saving for Christmas one.

Onwards and upwards and let's get this debt gone!!

This week I opened a starling bank account as I desperately needed somewhere I could record my savings properly, lumping them all in one account just wasn't helping me anymore.

I have also done a new budget spreadsheet which has made me a lot happier.
This month is my mums birthday so i have bought her a present and used money out of the birthday pot.

Hubby should be getting paid an extra £600 this month so that will go straight towards the credit card we are paying off, means we will definitely pay it off before the 0% interest ends in June.

I have a couple of days off work so will go through some rooms and have a clear out, the kids have way too much stuff so anything they don't play with / use will be sold (well i will try) and anything broken straight in the bin.

  • I have a starling account and love my spaces for all my different saving funds. Its so good that there's no limits and you can set goals for each

All payments have gone out and all starling pots have been paid into.
Made a huge overpayment to the credit card so now I think i will leave the payments as they are as this will still clear it by the time the 0% runs out and chuck the extra at the next credit card I am going to tackle.

  • That's a great idea. Anything that helps reduce down the chance of you paying interest is best in my book.

  • Just read through your journey you’ve done really well keep it up and good luck 😊 the savings pots are definitely a brilliant idea I use the monzo pots and I’m surprised highstreet Banks don’t offer a pots option still only standard savings accounts

I  second the pots. Complete game changer for me and I would never have heard of Starling or Monzo if it wasn't for this site.

  • The pots are amazing, having everything i needed to save for yearly in one account was just too much for me so i am glad there is this alternative.

Got a 0% offer with MBNA yesterday , 14 months so not too bad.
I have moved my balance from the highest interest card to that so once that clears it will be better. The high interest card also has a 12 mth 0% balance transfer offer so i might do some more moving around that way i will have only 1 that is charging interest and that is 17.18% so not too bad.
