  • Then I would set up a regular payment of 250 to July card then throw the rest at the Jan one. I'd also make sure the July 22 one is at min payment as you'll have spare to clear it nearer the time once other debts are gone

    Thank you.
When i did my SOA i put the credit card payments to just above the minimum, not a huge amount over (5 to 10 pounds) and then the one i am paying off had a bigger amount set for the direct debit and then anything else i could pay I did.
Once my direct debits have come out for October statements I will change the July 21 one and then chuck all the extra i can at the Jan one.

Today has been a productive day, I have changed my sim only plan so I am paying nearly £10 less a month.
I went to get some bits for Christmas for the kids as I can not wait until we come out of this lockdown at the beginning of December (If that happens)  so I am feeling much better.
I still have a few bits to get but nothing that can't be done online.

I am pretty annoyed with myself today, i have just looked at all the stuff i have bought for Christmas and have spent way too much.
Where I only had my LBM and did my finance makeover earlier in the year i was aware i wouldn't have saved enough for Christmas so knew i would use other funds. It is also my daughters birthday next month so it isnt like i have bought loads and loads it just all adds up.
Next year i will have a full Christmas fund and the main thing is i didn't put any on a credit card (well i did because i left my bank card at home one day but as soon as i got home i paid it back)
It does mean i won't have any extra to pay towards the debt this month but it could have been much worse.

  • Could you take any of it back or post it back? It is all stuff that's really needed?

  • Sounds like a good plan. I've been making a list in notes section of my diary as I buy things so I know who I have got what and how much I spent. I'm lucky I don't buy for many people so makes it easier as well

I am really struggling with making good use of time at the moment.

I did manage to go through all the stuff i bought for Christmas and instead of sending the excess back , family members bought them off me. I think because I pretty much did it all in one go it freaked me out.

I have changed the direct debit over for the next card i am going to pay off and also set up the payee on my internet banking so it is easier for me to send the extra as and when rather than using my debit card the whole time.

I got my first phone bill since changing my sim only deal and it is £5.26 this month.

I got some topcashback money yesterday which went straight to the credit card and have some money in my prolific so will cash that out and send towards the credit card too.

Christmas Shopping all done yay :)
The only thing I need to do is check I have enough wrapping paper which I am pretty sure I have and I will also give my mum some money for the food which we split every year.
I have definitely spent less than I previously have and I am happy with it all so I can start saving for Xmas 2021.

I have cashed out a couple more times on Prolific so have sent that straight to the credit card.

I have had  a couple of 0% balance transfer deals so I have done some moving around which will save me in interest.

I also had my final bill from my energy company and they have refunded me £103.60 :)

Payday next week and I am looking forward to doing my budget for the end of the year.

Well done on the Christmas shopping, transferring to 0% deals and energy bill refund! All big ticks in the happy column

I have done in-laws and almost all of 11yo but stuck on things for the 15yo.  Waiting for Black Friday to see if anything strikes inspiration.

    Good job!
