Looking to diversify my portfolio so thinking of adding an EV company. I missed out on Tesla way back when it was around 290 per share and was now looking at Nio and Nikola. Which of these are the better option to invest in?
Thanks
Nio has a future, Nikola does not.
But if I were you I'd get 'EV exposure' by investing in SMT (Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust).
IMHO
Thanks0 -

Vaccination will start soon and they will start making money. Many of Hollywood blockbusters movie launching have been postponed. With the signal like this it is very high chance the price will keep going up. But Certainly there is always small chance go down or even go bancrupt if we are unlucky. There will be some noise in the market due to extreme traders such as day Trader, Short sellers, etc. But you keep ignoring this noise, there is a good chance there will be bouncing back to pre COVID-19, the time where you might consider selling it.
CINE is purely speculative and a higher risk for sure than Moe's punts. But nevertheless if you got in early the windfall is still substantial if you sell in the short to medium term.
If there wasn't covid I probably would have had renewable sector in my portfolio, but with an 80+% gain on IAG, it was too good to miss out and alot of others on here have made a quick coin as well on the recovery value investing, I think BH has the best so far with rock-bottom William hill prices and potentially got 7x value
Short of investing in an unknown SPAC which is more risky, getting that return in 6 months is Highly unusual and the chances of William hill collapsing is unlikelyCertainly. Many people will agree that investing in selective Green Energy, AI, Cloud technology, EV, Fintech also highly selective bio tech modifying the gene (genomic) is a no brainer ... They have a lot of room to grow.
One of things I do not like about investing in big energy companies even they are doing green Power, is their CEO pay. It is ridiculous, they even get rewarded for failure, making loss. Also, many of them are also distributing dividend to shareholders even the companies are making a los.
About William Hill, unforunately they are already close to long time high. People normally do not like to buy stock when they close to long time high. Also they are already higher than pre-covid 19. In this case you could not take the benefit of COVID-19 stock recovery.

Sorry to be so under-informed on this, but what's the story with Nikola (sudden rise mid year then decline)?
Some people suggest Nikola should be called "Newton" as when they were filming a nice movement of the truck where in fact they were rolling the truck from the hill down using gravity. Thanks

Those who is asking about Boeing. Good news catalisator has come"Ryanair's Boeing 737 Max order is a boost of confidence: Analyst"Ryan air is already at all time high, so you will not be able to benefit from COVID-19 recovery.Vaccine, Confidence in travel industry, I believe will boost the Next candidate EasyJet. Easyjet still have large room to grow until they reach Pre-Covid19. EasyJet Head office is now in Vienna so they willl not be effected by Brexit.

Have been considering SMT for a while, but aren't they overly-reliant on TESLA?Re Nikola, do you think this is not to be taken seriously:

Thanks.
That JP Morgan analyst is Paul Coster.
He is ranked as 2,633 out of 7,124 analysts.
His success rate is 47% (I'll bet yours is better than that).
He's paid to talk JP Morgans book, not yours.
There's a lot of analysts out there because it's an easy job and there's a constant demand for 'news' copy.
Doubt very much he's put his own money into any of the stocks he's told to follow.
After 7 of his Buy ratings NKLA stock went down.
No "not to be taken seriously".

I've said before that I don’t really do speculative but EV charging company Chargepoint has been on my radar for a while. Switchback Energy (SBE) is the way in and I intend to make a small investment. The fascists of the future will call themselves anti-fascists.0
