Suggestions for a speculative punt?

Lastweek I mentioned about the UK undervalued stock. Today all of them have jumped significantly. remember these are blue chips stock not penny stocks. With penny stocks they jump 30%+ on particular day and you will find it that they might fall more than 30% on the same day.

Rolls Royce (RR) stock jump 43.70% today alone, madness.

My LLOY stock has turned green today for the first time after so long in red.

You could  easily beat the market by investing time on information on induvidual stocks and the stock market news & economy.

Indeed, there is a recent news Pfizer and BioNtech vaccine have been proven to prevent 90% of infections.

The tech stocks are currently overvalued based on many analysts opinion. Time to buy or add position in the Airlines, Cruise (to some extends), Travel agents, hotels, resorts with relatively strong balance sheet ?.

Also do not forget about COVID-19 stimulus package which is likely to be agreed soon.

That ship has already sailed.

You could still board the Ship by using a small boat to catch it. The stocks like

Airlines, Cruise (to some extends), Travel agents, hotels, resorts. Banks with relatively STRONG balance sheet ?.

They are still severely undervalued and because the news of the effectivenss of the vaccine just come today, it is highly likely there will be another run for a few days to come.

You can't buy yesterday's news. The market doesn't decide that Rolls Royce is worth 60% more today but it'll get around to revaluing a travel agent tomorrow. 

An effective vaccine (if that's what this is) is a step towards normalcy so maybe a speculative punt now is a short on something that fared well during covid. It is a punt though because the old normal and new normal aren't going to be the same which might be why Zoom is 'only' down 15%.

Shame Pfizer hasn't jumped much

Will wait for the market to stablise before deciding where to strike, too much hype at the moment

Funny how quickly people get used to a recent normal and project into the future. Seems like a form of groupthink - IAG (are you crazy?), Rolls Royce (there will be no airlines to service), Carnival (pass me a bargepole). News of a vaccine and suddenly people about turn and remember what life was like and how they used to like spend to spend their money just a few short months ago.

We just can't wait to get back into 'spoons!

You can see it already with IAG and royals royce going down again. However Easy jet and JD are staying up.

Up over 8% today.  

Though Roche fell 4% as demand for some of it's products may now be time limited. 

Time to scrap the current watch list and start anew. Once the dust has settled on todays events.

Same I've added more hospitality to the list and excluded those who are close to their pre covid levels, so JD being one of them, although still 600p to go

i'll post how it goes once I've made my move, shame those PB and IB at NS&I don't come quicker, but hopefully that will give me time to digest,  not to be impulsive and see the markets stabilize.

Definitely not for the beginner investor this thread. If i started investing today and read this thread, I'd be having kittens
